I am going to let go of a rock in my hand. Wait, what will happen to the rock? It is unknowable. Science just can't tell me what will happen to that rock after I let go, because the future is unknowable. Most would think the rock will drop. But to those twisting themselves into knots about it, anything could happen, I guess. It's just all so unknowable. We should just throw our hands up in the air based on your expert knowledge... denialist.

  2. What in the world was difficult about this? A war photo of a little girl whose clothing had been burned off by Napalm. What exactly was the difficult decision? There was zero reason to censor this photo. Good Lord these people can be such idiots!

Good Lord, it failed once! Therefore by the universal law of nature, it must always fail no matter how differently its done! Why didn't I think of that? Dang, we will never fly because many people prior to the Wright Brothers failed, after all. And I'm pretty sure the world is flat.

  4. Well lets see. Since this replaces all other benefits... Medical insurance. Well, there goes the whole wad there. Insurance industry wins again. Food: Nothing left Housing: Nothing left Communications: Nothing left So the question is; if you're unemployed you are very screwed, same as before. Except before they had benefits so they didn't have to starve or sell everything they own, give up their children for medical experiments. :) Not sure how this is going to work if the individual is initially unemployed and maybe gets ill...

  5. How dare these government types not listen to their overlords, their unelected Kings? Whom do these peasants think they are?

  6. And when we conquer aging? on HP Hit With Age-Discrimination Suit Claiming Old Workers Purged (mercurynews.com) · · Score: 1

I think an interesting thought experiment will be what it's going to look like as real treatments for aging damage start coming online, and people's useful productivity suddenly skyrockets. Real treatment, the first of which is likely to be senolytic therapy, are likely only 5 - 7 years away. Organizations like the SENS foundation are laboring away bit by bit at this process, and WILL be producing real therapies. It's just a matter of time. When a 60 year old with all their experience gets the youth of a 20 year old, how will that affect the workplace?
