  1. dotty on Spirit Takes Snapshot of Earth · · Score: 1

    A dot
    Lost in space
    At least we are somewhere.
Since I am a dot on a bigger dot in the middle of huge dots and other dots
    I must be dotty

    (I feel fine ;))

This is all about relativity of matter

    oh well
every thing seems to be going down the drain.

What's this got to do with blue phone?

Twenty years ago aeverything was better quality.

  3. meta morpheus on Robotic Bubble Baths for Japan's Elderly · · Score: 2, Interesting

I wonder how those trousers work exactly, someone would still be needed to help the elderly use the "trousers" and explain the functions of the machine.

Now what if the machine doesn't stop? That could be cause of anxiety for people not used to technology.

I have mixed feelings about this, cleaning and feeding is often the only moment were elderly share time with another human presence.
Would this device not bring more loneliness and more depression, in a time where family solidarity and help seems to gradually dissolve?
I doubt it would bring additional independence, although it would be practical in medical environments and lead to needing less staff, it could contribute to isolate the person with mobility problems even more.

In Japan you can boot perfumed and coloured, what is the next step into metamorphosing us into machines?

  4. re: is it me, is it really me? on Famous Hawking Black Hole Bet Resolved? · · Score: 1

"Maybe the real workings of the universe can't be explained with everyday experiences. After all, quantum stuff and relativity has little bering on hunting, communicating and making little ones, and that's what our brains were designed to do."

    Black-out here,
    lost in black

All we do us, humans is to experience and to reproduce "the workings of the universe".
Relativity is a concept we live with, everything moves, changes, disappears.

I dont think it's our brains who were designed to do the hunting and making little or big ones, more likely our instincts.

We use our brains for...... black holes.
    linking strings together ;)

  5. creative? on Hackers: The Art of Abstraction · · Score: 4, Insightful

Art work is there to create an atmosphere, to procure an emotion, so it has a function.

Its not because the function is psychological that it is inexistent. The summit is to be able to associate beautiful with practical form, and that's what design is all about.

I have seen beautiful designs by hackers, so to me many have artistic concepts, and are inspired.

Hacking a way of slicing reality for mathematical minds?
A good cook is creative in his art so is a doctor undertaking a chirurgic operation, so is, so is so is.....

All professions have their amount of creativity, and some are more creative then others, no matter the occupation.

In all cases, the inventor has to master the rules who define the medium he applies, thus to use the maximum possibilities, for the creation to be well balanced, i.e. ingredients in the case of a dish, colours for a painting, sounds for music, etc...

  6. DELETED on Fired Via Instant Message · · Score: 1

I suppose its what you call progress.

This reminds me of a new trend in Europe: TV reality shows, and sending SMS to eliminate a candidate.
A group of usually 16 selected people spend time together in a loft, a singing school, an island, a place full of obstacles whatever, and are filmed. Every week, a nominee is eliminated by the public,
Those channels make millions of Euros just collecting SMS'ses.
    YOU are eliminated.
    Tragic.
Use this method a few times in US, with about 200 million SMSes? each time, after many polls the debt may be slightly reduced.

    Wondering Would W be.....SMSed ????

  7. kyw on Amazon.com Pierces Reviewer Anonymity · · Score: 1

Linux or swrate? No idea I wouldn't understand that type of review. Anonymous is great, I hold on to my privacy, see I am wild. I certainly wouldn't of appreciated Amazon giving out my name. Caution in the web, that's my approach, because so anonymous and widely spread. One has the right to know who is using one's material when where, what for! The reviews: isn't it logical that souls who actually know the writer, musician, and therefore are familiar with the work speak/write about it? Ok, its my first post brought here by strange karmas ;) the one that keeps me from posting pics or too personal info. The "other" karma posted a pic, it was a shock for me.
