Well I though firefox was safe until I visited this website.
Beware, link above not safe for public environments, loud sound and massive popups, even on firefox.
Nobody uses it because all it takes is access to the HDD (think knoppix or other) and the Windows password is rendered utterly useless.
The only way to secure a HDD from the Feds is using encryption that is illegal in the USA.
I recently found out a great way to pre-sort the good bands from the crappy ones.
If the song you just downloaded is a 30 second loop or 3:15 of silence, then it typically means the band sucks and is in it just for the money (no talent or art).
Thank you RIAA for helping us choose.
A good stream site I stumbled on was http://www.basic.ch They have 100+ artists and Djays doing incredible stuff. I rarely find their stuff on Kazaa though.
I believe -please someone correct me if I'm wrong- that downloading copyrignted material is not illegal per se. What is punishable by law is "distributing" copyrighted material. So if you have been uploading music or movies, you broke the law and now they have proof (the logs).
Sure, there is a lot of debate around the legal age of reason. Sometimes the law draws an arbitrary line (voting age, army age, driving age) and sometime it prefers to judge in case by case (as in murders, trials as an adult).
If legal age for prison can fluctuate, then the legal age for voting, drinking, driving, and the army should also be decided on a case by case basis.
Just because your child is a script kiddie doesn't make you a bad parent. He gets caught, you punish/explain/guilt him, he won't do it again.
Kids are not meant to be perfect, and teens are designed to push limits.
Have some humanity, please.
Average joe would say "send him to Gitmo with the others."
I am personally glad that people not yet 18 -basically children- can get away with doing stuff like that.
How about a toaster computer?

Someone please set up a mirror before slashdotting the poor guy.
I just want the cool features of solaris (such as hot-swappable processors on a multi-processor system) to be ported to Linux.
Honestly, bot OS can and should merge into one entity. less fork, more merge.
The first three pages of hits in Google can't load.
It is because the Cameras themselves have been slashdotted!!!
what is next?
slashdotted pet feeders?
One major grief I had with Linux was I could not use Kazaa's p2p network.
-that is until I discovered GiFT, and its front-end Apollon.
Now I can simultaneously download from Gnutella, OpenFT, and Fastrack (the Kazaa network).
Better than Spyware-infested Kazaa if you ask me...

Lugs are university affiliated 90% of the time.
Most, however, include interests in closed-source software.
So LuGs are much more than just Linux user groups, in effect they are computer-enthusiast groups.
Direct democracy allready exists. Switzerland, for example, allows the populace to question any decisions made by the government via a referendum process. It also allows for ideas proposed by parties, unions, or just individuals to be voted at state level.
Yeah I know "open-sourced politics" sounded like science-fiction. But direct democracy (as opposed to representative democracy) exists and seems to work very well.
Yes, but the instant dissemination of information renders the whole "enlightened leader" concept of democracy obsolete.
No single group of people should have the burden of making decisions. If politics were really "open-sourced"(as in perpetual referendums), the current system of management would not be able to compete with it. The quality and quatity of ideas would be far greater if the masses were allowed to directly make decision, instead of just a few elected (closed-sourced) politicians.
Open-source democracy is truly the will of the people - they get to decide instantly what gets done and what doesn't.

You may be on the right track. All the guy has to to is call his work "art" and Voila! no more violation of copyright.
This is the first double Pleonasm i've ever seen.
The rock is next to the north pole, so it is obviously cold -duh.
The island is south of the North pole. Yes, the entire planet is south of the north pole -duh!
For those that dont understand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleonasm
Another problem for the average windows user.
I hate to point out the obvious, but users that don't pay attention to what they are installing deserve their pop-ups.
Any one else read the title as "Ready for Country Music Television?"
My first thought was: "Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!"
Nipple fatfingered?

Every single kid in the world has done something he wasn't supposed to do at some point in his life.
When he makes a mistake, make him understand (through persuation/violence/guilt pick your flavor) never to do it again.
Kids are NOT responsible for their actions, that's why they can't vote.

I'm not sure you grasped the irony of your own post.

Is there any way it can be open-sourced? Or is AOL holding on to their source code, even though nullsoft is dead?
every new version of firefox breaks all the themes and extentions previously installed. This is my 4rth time around hunting down Easygestures...
