Lets face it the only reason why google is getting slapped with the evil monicker is that they are good at what they do. It's the same reason why models get torn down for being beautiful.
They are so good they must be bad reasoning that some people like to use.... I can't see dirt so they must have hired a cleaning crew to hide the actual dirt.
If the rest of the industry feels like they are treated unfairly by having to be held to high standards then simply don't compete....
what's to prevent the bag from melting?
what's going to prevent capillary action from sucking water down your cables into the bag?
How are you going to seal the bag without damaging cables?
How are you going to prevent the leads from the pcb from puncturing the bag?
This simple solution is begining to look quite a bit less simple;)
still interesting tho... I figure the trick would be finding the right material for the bag.
sounds like a form of sorting (ie triage) to me and basicly your saying you'd rather be in a system that the rich (or those whom are willing to pay extra) get preferential treatment. That's fine you moved to where you can get it.
The main argument is still sorta moot tho... either system sucks it just sucks for different people...
both systems triage people and there are people whom quite simply will never get treated. So if it comes down to either system the problem we are arguing here will be in both systems. I just tend to think that fair treatment is more likely in a system where greed (ipo's and so such) arn't a factor
I personally think it's more evil to say that one must have the money for the surgery upfront... but I think I've gotten this down to the point that I can get a grip on it... either way of doing it has a human cost and no one is ever going to be comfortable with letting someone they know suffer and die.
Tho I think a system that has to at least look at you before they decide to treat you or not is better than a system where they look at your insureance first.
people over 70 aren't put on the list for heart transplants... I think I had that in my original post but I'll restate it here... part of the perpose of a universal health care system is to prioratize people and triage them into whom needs it more. Money shouldn't be a dividing line between whom gets to survive and whom doesn't.
because that's the only explanation I can see. My stepfather had a heart attack and he had surgery almost immediately in calgary. They air ambulanced him there and he was back in town within two weeks to recover back with his family. Your horror story seems exagerated.
Now don't get me wrong there are some inherent flaws in our system but to say the us has a better system by looking at individual cases seems a bit flawed... as well the thing about universal health care is that it's deseigned to help everyone based on need. It's part of the reason why people over seventy arn't put on a waiting list for a heart... the heart would be of more use in a person whom is going to more than likely live longer... if a person can pay to get to the front of a list then what's to prevent an eighty year-old from getting a heart that should go into a teenager?
We have to decide what is worth it as a society. I know it doesn't always come down to money but to be honest if I had to spend 50 thousand dollars to save someone I'd pick the person who seems like they are most likely going to contribute as much back to the system as possible.
by instant messangers linked to email...
basicly my email accounts don't accept mail unless it comes from a pre approved list...
and that list comes from my instant messanger lists...
both of which are invite only...
if one wishes for privacy all one needs to do is close the door
why on windows that was pirated with linux... we should out right ban linux as it's a threat to all I hold dear (my big fat wallet and my ability to dance on stage looking like an idiot...)
is that someone other than he is making the money...
if it was a microsoft mp3 player he'd be calling it "fair use" as it is balmer is the perfect example of why one would want to switch. I personally try to route my living as far away from blow hard hypocrites as possible.
or add a plastic reflective layer to the inside of the windows... I don't think that adding that to a cockpit would be cost prohibitive or a difficult fix. Tho I suppose if it affects visibility it might be an issue....
but a pilot that has a bit of trouble seeing through a window is much better than a pilot rolling on the cockpit floor screaming "MY EYES, MY EYES"
I agree entirely the issue isn't what the mpaa is doing to prevent piracy of it's works. It's if it's illegal at all. Basically laws are created by consensus most people agree that they don't wish to be stolen from... but what constitutes theft... I know of no one whom polices the rights to the oxygen in their house for example. I see that the backlash against the corperations (in the form of p2p) that own most of these copyrights as a correction in the system basicly stating that we want a re write of the copyright laws as they are inherently stifeling.
is to set up a call the manufacturer day. Every one on slashdot calls a manufacturer that they know doesn't support linux and asks if their most expensive product suports it. When they say no or try to tell you that you don't want linux you tell them that what you really don't want is their product.
internet "exploder" it packs a hell of a lot of blue screens into just one little app.
also I think that google has the name advantage for now... a mircosoft clone of it would have to be called moogle or something silly like that.
intel processors to ensure stable profit margins for the intel corporation. *intel chimes*
I always wondered if internal intel memos come equiped with a little button for those chimes.
For the difference in price/point of preformance those chimes are begining to look damn expensive

steve balmer most remembered for his all crow diet died today when something got stuck in his craw.

it's very good for dealing with rpm dependancy hell as long as your running a mandrake box... but isn't there a version of apt for rpms now too?

to want linux for anything but the quality of linux. The quality is consistently going up... so it's only a matter of time.
