  1. Re:OpenGL is Dead on The State of OpenGL · · Score: 5, Informative
DirectX has won the war, with better features, performance, and availability.

I don't know about availability, OpenGL is cross-platform (works on OS X, Linux, Windows, etc.) while DirectX is Windows only. OpenGL is also included with many if not all graphic cards. So it's just as widely available, if not more, than DirectX.

Damn, I'm going to be in a quandry here, especially when they make Halo compatible with this emulator. Hrm.. Halo for PC or Halo the rom. I'm so confused.

I permit myself one bit of tech: a walkman.

And you should, in fact studies have been made and exercising to music helps stimulate more brain power. So, if you're going to go out for a jog, bring an MP3 player/CD player.

Hate to reply to my own post, but SpyMac is also in the same market as google, as far as e-mail goes. They're offering 1 GB of e-mail with no 'context-sensitive' advertising all for free.

  5. What's there to complain about? on Privacy Complaint Against Google's GMail Service · · Score: -1, Redundant
Really, what is there to complain about? Google is offering a free e-mail service, something that they are not forced to use.

Not only that, you think Google would really hire employees to read millions and millions of e-mails? I really don't think so. They also need some way to provide for the hardware used for this e-mail service, and they're doing it through advertising.

It's a script that is reading your e-mails, not a person, and if you have something that is really confidential to say, don't post it on the Internet!

They have no reason to complaint, don't like it? Don't use it.

Actually, an early test version of the OS was released on the Internet, so I'm assuming that these people have the test copy version and are playing around with it to create their own skins.

I've got some good news and bad news, too.

Bad News: I didn't get accepted to Google's new job offering, apparently, I'm "under-qualified". What a drag.

Good News: I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

My dad recalls (born in 1952) when his neighbors got color TV and he remembers everyone on the street tried to get in the house to watch it.

You mean people don't do that today? We might not go so far as going into their house but if they have a big screen TV you can sure see a lot through the window.

Anyone know the cost of Hitatchi's 1-inch 4 gigabyte hard drive, the one that is implented into the new iPod mini?

The price should be relatively close to that as that is the market they are trying to get into and that is their main competitor contemporarily. It could give us a rough estimate on Toshiba's price.
