NewEgg is just the online store of the failed Egghead computer stores. If you thought CompUSA was overpriced, EggHead was WAYYY overpriced when they were in brick and mortar business. I remember being able to buy floppies at the grocery store cheaper than EggHead.
I felt that Computer City was better than CompUSA but they were always in bad locations and in smaller cities.
I guess you really showed me how I've been conditioned. I've never been in a situation where I've had to be on the front lines of a decision like that. I've been seeing it from the womens perspective as she is the one with the hormone changes and physical carrying of the baby.
What's wrong with having that decision on the states or even better, the local municipalities?
As a male, I don't have a dog in that fight. I can respect both sides of the issue but face it, we're not all New Englanders, Southerners, Mid-westerners, Westerners, or whatever. Tough decisions are better made locally than federally.
I think the problem was that he (Remus) was a 'happy' slave and in the PC world, there is no such thing as a 'happy' slave. Slaves were malnourished, beaten, and chained so they could work the fields efficiently for greedy land owners. Because if there were 'happy' slaves, the bigger piece of pie they want (reparations) doesn't seem as `owed` to them if they were happy with their life as if they were miserable and mistreated.
In the states, one does not have to have a diploma from an accredited high school to become a first responder.
If/when a health care practitioner becomes a government job, it will only get worse. Results will vary from municipality to municipality as local corruption plays a hand.
If free health care is provided, the amount of hypochondriacs will increase, the quality of doctors will decrease, the requirements to become a doctor will decrease and will become a technicians job relying on manuals and a 2 year schooling instead of engineering requirements.
It is unavoidable in a country that provides welfare for those who don't work and those who will justify an excuse to not work in order to get benefits.
The TSA is what happens when you let government come up with a solution to a potential problem.
What is disheartening is that in the USA, the slacker and entitle mentality is celebrated while someone that works hard, saves, raises a family, and is dependent on themselves is seen as the problem.
Some people like a city view, some people like a mountain view, some people like an ocean view. This is no different.
The city view in Honolulu is offensive to those that choose to stay on Molokai or Kauai. Some who live in the plains might like the city view in the mountains that Honolulu has to offer.
Bungie certainly doesn't suck now Well, they only make software for Microsoft now and their recent releases are not as good as their releases when they were a solo company. That means that they're crappier to me.
Giant was the anti-spyware company they bought and turned it into Windows Defender. The product was a lot better before becoming integrated.
For being on/., I find it really hard to believe that you've never heard of Hotmail. If you've never heard of Hotmail, you've never ever installed Windows in a personal setting or used IE that was a result of a fresh install.
Even today, if you were to open the default browser - even to download Firefox - on Windows, you would see the default home page and the first link on the readable white space is a link to Hotmail.
Now, if you've never used it, that's slightly different but nonetheless, you must be aware of the craptitude of the Hotmail system.
Wait... The only company that should even consider buying Adobe is MS - they are the ones with the track record of buying crap and making it better
Like what?
Hotmail? Giant? Bungie? <--Not crap when acquired WebTV?
Unless you meant better crap like crappier
About the only thing is quality merchandise with their name on it is computer accessories like mice, keyboards, and speakers and sometimes the trinkets they give out at their pow wows.
In Georgia (Greater Atlanta) they de-regulated natural gas making it a mess for the consumer while raising the prices. You had to choose a gas company to do your billing through that used the same damn gas you were paying for through the same pipes. The problem here is that you were still paying for the same gas through a third party.
In the same vein but different direction, this would be great for customers. Utilize the existing pipe, choose your provider, drive prices down.
There is no way anyone can build a home brew computer on par with the top tier OEMs anymore. That wasn't the case 10 years ago but you can't put together a system that compares with the Mac Mini or iMac for that matter.
He is producing 100 episodes each so it already qualifies for syndication. He is producing which also means that he is funding so there is no studio (other than his own) to place an order of 13 episodes to test the audience for future episodes.
Even if no one watches it, there will be 100 episodes in the can produced.
In the case of the Clone Wars, last I checked, 80ish episodes were finished. I imagine that 100 hours were storyboarded and the cuts for the episodes will come from that. I suspect that the live action will be slightly different as different directors will be involved. I imagine that a director will probably get a 1 to 6 hour segment and episodes cut from that.
It depends. Sometimes the picture freezes and sometimes it drops out.
With TV stations having 24 hour programming now and the analog TV sets are no longer able to be purchased, I wonder how a remake of Poltergeist would tackle these issues?
Will I encrypt my email because they're snooping? No - in the case of confidential messages, they have always been dealt with cryptically.
Can I do anything about them snooping in my email - regardless if it's encrypted or not? Absolutely not
Can we do anything about them snooping in my email? We can try
I am such a low priority for them that as long as it doesn't disturb my day to day routine, I really don't worry about it. I don't even notice if they are even sniffing my packets.
It's like being robbed in your home when you're out. It doesn't matter if you have an alarm system or not, if someone wants property of yours, they will get it. You can double lock your doors, put bars on the windows, pay for a monitoring service, or whatever, it will not stop a determined person from getting whatever they want to get.
That hassle of behavior is not worth it to me. Supporting a group or honest politician to stop the snooping is worth the hassle.
I'm not going to go downtown and walk across the street out of my way just to avoid the town crier (you know, every town has one, a crazy coot parked in the center of town that says the end of the world is coming). I will confront him if he confronts me.
I have a relative that has been comfortable with Windows since 3.1 and finally got fed up with it and went Mac. Their machine died and they were either going to have to learn Vista which has a bad rep from word of mouth in their community (2 neighbors that upgraded hate it) or go Mac which had a good rep. Thunderbird (Mozilla mail before that, Netscape before that) and Firefox (Mozilla before that and Netscape before that) work like they expect it to so they really don't notice a difference except that iPhoto is much better than their Windows photo management they used before.
Still can't stream media without a license for each file.

He's also rabidly pro-life

Is that `fairly large portion` statistic part of that statistical 70% of data that is made up?
If it wasn't bad enough that we saw Vader as a sad kid, we also got to see Boba Fett as a sad little kid.
Patton Oswald on the issue.

Shouldn't he be in a spacesuit when he fixes it therefore shouldn't it be extremely well insulated?
I mean, the Emperor from Star Wars should be able to blast cosmic rays at him and he should just shrug it off like morning dew.

Unfortunately, we're not in a war. No war has been declared. I believe it's a resolution.
Windows 98 freaking trumps Vista as a game machine.
I'm sure the indexing will have an exploit malware writers will use just like bundling of IE from the Win98 days.

Art Carney and Bea Arthur. Classic.
You don't have to install several hundred megs to read one
Except on Windows. I think Vista fixes that but being Microsoft, I'm sure it's bastardized.
It depends. Sometimes the picture freezes and sometimes it drops out.

I will miss the white noise from my TV.
