And it's not really new, there is a similar program (actually, it's a mix of algorithm and heuristics) called packJPG, it also achieves similar results.
Was it windows based?!?:-/ Sigh, silly autorun mania...:(
BTW: Why the surveillance system (cameras) were under control of people who could interact with the (barely) "highly locked-down computer"?
Uooopsssss....... HUGE LAPSUS ALERT...
Sorry... yes, I meant lossless...:-)
If you like, give also packARC a try (p.s. the author also provides linux building scripts).
Funny, btw, for jpeg and mp3 backup, there is at least one lossy compression solution:

For up to date code take a look at the Matthias http://www.matthiasstirner.com...
There are pre-built (command line) windows exe It's LGPL (and GPL) code fairly portable, alas, the compression isn't streamable (so the inclusion in some packers is quite hard).
No, for God' sake, this is not a bearable italian. And, it's unfair.
Politics in -every- nation is a "quite" dirty thing, but not a crime.
And, PLEASE, don't put a signature in a foreign language if you don't know the grammar, even the basic one.
Fancy answer, I'm thinking about "internet" as a worldwide thing, what's the meaning of "foreign courts", where are you from?
It's not the "business" area, it's the "justice", not really a nation by itself.
I.E. We don't have death penalty in any "region", so we should regard USA (or China, or any other nation) as a barbarian society?
Greetings.
Don't you know? Berlusconi is everything. Weird, but, w/o him the left parties would have fallen in pieces years ago (no good ideas,no leaders).
I've heard something about him and:
- Titanic's shipwreck
- Apollo 13's troubles
- some natural disasters (choose one).
- the big black hole in the middle of the galaxy.
Also.. italian justice is questioning him about two thousands years ago... and his collusion with Ponzio Pilato in a triple murder.
Anyway, take a look at our recent history: we are a republic since 1945 and we haven't had any stable government since then.
It's quite a miracle that there is still an italian republic.
Oh, the law is far from perfect, but it's against the abuses (and we had a LOT of them).
Greetings from one of the most beautiful and rich of art country in the world - really.
I don't remember who wrote this here, but it's quite true, when you come to politics, it's like soccer (or baseball or....put your favourite sport here...)... Reason leave. Maybe it's the same for me.
P.S.
psst... do you have a real opposition to spare? Even an used one. Please.
Yes, if you mean: tourists would see or know that a company is partner with Venice" as a tourist trap.
I suppose tourists pay only to limit bandwidth consumption and to cover the global costs for infrastructure maintenance....and to make some more money too.:-)
I don't know, if Cacciari (the major) is smart enough, Venice could get a really cheap contract through sponsors. It's a little bit known in the world and has some tourist now and then.:-)
I see. Thanks for the explanation. I agree. After all the scanning is more fast and secure. In case of troubles the paper is a little bit more difficult to change or to hide than an electronic vote.
But my question is.. how can YOU (I mean in the U.S.A.) trust a software for elections w/o seeing it's source??
BTW. Your elections are a nightmare all over the world, internet,tv,newspapers.. Uh.. and... Please, forgive (and forget) any italian politician (no matter the party) flying around.. they are politicians after all they don't really know what they are doing.
Vista? uooops... a "SVista" (more or less an italian wordfor an "error" made by distraction).:-D Sorry, I couldn't resist..:-D
Jokes apart, MS has to make money, like any other company, I don't understand "trolling" and hate against MS. Note: I personally like both *nix and windows worlds (and make some development in both worlds, too). No one if forced to use Windows or other MS products, you can use alternative software any time you like.
Well, here in italy we have a provider who has everything via ip (phone, videophone, television and internet of course). It works quite well. It's kinda Metropolitan Area Network with some huge NATs:) Some with optical fiber and others with DSL (sigh.. guess who...:( ) The major drawback is public IP.
And it's not really new, there is a similar program (actually, it's a mix of algorithm and heuristics) called packJPG, it also achieves similar results.
Actually, 7-zip offers SFX. BTW: I agree, open source isn't a "magic bullet" for a good software.

Probably you're right, it's cathartic, forgive me for my depressive reply. :)
32 died that day.
Regarding such a patent, you have to talk with Walt Disney & Carl Barks :-)

Does anyone would drive a Vista car? With the UAC asking if you really want to stop or start anytime? :-)
Don't know if things will be better, but I believe they will put a "gamma" tag.
That's not fair (and it's untrue too). Notice: I'm not french but just in the neighborhood.
Hi, actually the culprits for the aggression, the shooting and the uploading of the videos WERE found and punished. Our police enforcements are quite efficient. This is a link to an italian newspaper's site: http://www.lastampa.it/_web/cmstp/tmplrubriche/tecnologia/grubrica.asp?ID_blog=30&ID_articolo=5314&ID_sezione=38&sezione=News

And, simply using a pop3 or imap4 compliant program to download all of the mail? The contacts could be exported by hand.
640 quantum cores should be enough for anybody.... :-)
