Good point, but I think it misses mine. The original post seemed to state that Taco believed there were 25k systems either being switched to Linux, or already running Linux. Either way it was wrong.
Might have just been a bad way of stating his point, but that's kind of what I was pointing out.
I know this is a 'me too' post, but it suprised me (some, not much) that anyone would suppose just b/c a person/company/whatever starts running a program that is available under multiple platforms that it's assumed to be your platform, when you KNOW they have used a completely different platform for years.
I mean, come on, don't TOTALLY disengage your brain.
Disney movies are NOT for kids. They are for families. After all, would you take a 5 year old to see a movie about a son who sees his father die, thinking he is responible, but years later, comes back and kills his uncle (the true murder) in revenge?
Sounds like a great kids plot huh? You spot the Disney movie.
But the flip side of this coin is that it's so candy coated that we don't mind (or most of us don't - I vaguely remember something nasty about Hunchback).
But my point here is that Disney movies, tho animated, aren't for kids. They're for families. Most everyone in the family can appreciate something in it. Dinosaur is a good example - the hip wiggle that the lead female gave near the begining - all the women in the theater laughed, us men groaned, the kids just thought the 'jerk-a-saurs was funny.
Don't just cut France. Instead, put a redirect so that anyone connecting from France goes to a simple page with a message that reads something like this:
Your government has decided that we can not display all of our content from this web page. We have found that we can not realisticly comply with thier edicts, and therefore must prevent your access.

And what credentials would you check? I proposed nothing. I just thought it interesting that many ppl will take his word as gospel, but w/o proof.
However, we now have recieved proof. Or at least links. Would you have accepted a contradictory argument from ME if I had submited no info to prove it?
I hadn't meant to offend the original poster (any one else is ancillory(sp?) dmg, and I don't much care). Mostly I had meant to make an observation on how trusting ppl can be "I read it on the internet (/.), so it must be true!"

I do not want to comment on your questions but want to
emphasize that no one has yet accused PTViewer
of infringing any patents. There are many viewers
out there which use similar technology and I am not
aware of any ipix patent that could possibly apply.
[snip]
Another point: I did not receive the warning from ipix
but from a person who is currently being treated by
them and their lawyers. I am not authorized to mention
details. I hope there is no immediate danger, neither
for him nor for us, but it makes sense to be cautious,
hence the proposed changes.
Yea, ppl have bought linux based web pads. I work for a company that sells them. I'm just glad I don't have to support it, b/c it's an AOL only connection via the web pad.
If you copyright(left) a piece of software as BestMailer that is a mail list server and then a company tries to TM BestMailer and they make all kinds of mail software, they can't make you change your name b/c you have copywrite.
The biggest drawback I can see for this immediatly is if you make multiple softwares. Then you don't have a TM under which you release everything.
At least I don't think so - if I write a book, but don't sell it, I can copywrite it. So just copywrite the name & then you can let anyone use it you want.
Should work just fine.
That, or copyleft it (should work about the same, but nobody's tested it in court, I think).
To all the ones ranting about religion - remember that with all the different ideas out there SOMEBODY HAS TO BE WRONG (at least in the details). What if it's you? Many religions allow for what Xtian's cosider adultery.
Second:
For everyone else. Sin is easily defined as 'hurting other people unnessarily'. That could include Xtian adultery, but it may not (your spouse doesn't care as long as you come home 'clean').
The MOST IMPORTANT THING IN ANY RELATIONSHIP is that both of you COMMUNICATE (NOT just talk, but communicate), and therefore both of you know, and agree, on the rules by which you live.
If in doubt, ASK!!! You may get put in the dog house, but that's better than being kicked out.
I rather hope I have offended some of you enough to make you think, but I don't much care. I just get tired of listening to ppl say that lack of religion is the reason for decline.
Teach your children to take responibilty for ALL thier actions, and everything else will follow. Religion doesn't enter into it.
One note for the person who posted scripture: I liked that - it's true. And I'm VERY happy to see your cavet about many ppl not taking it as such. It offends me when ppl think that I must be going to thier hell, or worshipping their demons b/c I don't believe in their gods.
Try Pronto - it allows multiple smtp's, but it does ask which 'account' you want to be default. You have to manually change from the default account if you want to use a diff smtp.
I'm at work so don't have the url, but you can find it at freshmeat.
That's a really good point. Hadn't thought of it, and the breast cancer example struck a chord. I had never noticed some particular 'female' ailments until I met my wife. She is being treated for something that, left unattended, could become cancerous.
I fall into this catagory somewhat - only for me it's country music. (Yea, go ahead and gag.) But I knew everyone, or everyone knew me. I was never a part of any clicq, but never told to get lost either. It's always been kinda odd (to me) to be a geek, but never a real outcast.
For those who might be curious as to how long ago this was, I'm going to my 10 year HS reunion this summer.
Several years ago there was a gizmo that could plug into a computers serial(?) port and dump data to a VCR. It never caught on, but if you could find one, I bet it would be a good place to start.
Wish I could even remember the name of the package . . .
LOL!!

I mis-read the preceding posts. Ignore the part about checking my credentials.
Work gets in the way of reading . . .
I often misspell. Doesn't bother me much.

This is a very interesting reply in that the Snr Crew member gives NO information to lead us to believe he was a snr crew.
I'm not saying he's not, just that he gave no concrete info. Not even a set of search words in lieu of links.

Does it strike anyone else as odd that they are supporting a vigilante (thier word, not mine)?
Rarely do you see this IRL, but b/c it's on the internet it's ok?
Hmmm . . . .
Yea, ppl have bought linux based web pads. I work for a company that sells them. I'm just glad I don't have to support it, b/c it's an AOL only connection via the web pad.
Scary, but it's there, and ppl do buy them.
True, but they can overlap.

IANAL, of course - I agree with The Bard.

Sounds similar to acting. Is it cheating when Mel Gibson kisses his female lead?

Quick questions:
Isn't FreeBSD now part fo BSDi?
And if so, how is this affecting your development, support, etc. ad nausem?

Actually, other than a gallon of tea in a day once in a while, I don't drink that much.
But yea, I've seen ppl who shouldn't drive when hyped on caffine.
Me, I rarely get mad at other drivers - but I get VERY disgusted by stupidity in general, on or off the road.
That's a really good point. Hadn't thought of it, and the breast cancer example struck a chord. I had never noticed some particular 'female' ailments until I met my wife. She is being treated for something that, left unattended, could become cancerous.
Thank you for bringing that point up.
I was reading the intro for this 'Hey, ask him' and it made it sound as though you didn't think about drunk driving until it affected you.
My question is: Why did it take that?
I'm not militant, but I've been known to knock my friends down rather than let them drive while under the influence of anything.
