    Classic. So true. So hilarious.

I thought this was interesting. Microsoft is teaming up with Predictive Networks, whose vice president happens to be Christopher Painter, the guy who nabbed Mitnick.

Here is an article for those interested on Painter meeting up with Mitnick at a Bush Cyber-Security Conference.

Where can I see a demo of mod_mp3 in action? Who would download without checking it out first? Also, I've been using Apache::MP3 with great success for the past few months, I love it. It installed and worked fine right out of the box and the documentation is excellent. Written by Lincoln Stein (the auther of the eagle ORA book). Check it out on CPAN.

    I agree wholeheartedly!

Living under a label is living in fear of being yourself. Too often people hide behind these preconstructed cookie-cutter personalities because they think that is the best kind of person to be. However, when you look at the people in life that have really made it, really had an impact on others and been sucessful in accomplishing goals, those people are the ones that put active conscious thought into each question and situation they come across.

The reason that Koresh started getting attention in the first place is that they were buying guns. From this, the government thought it was it's business to find out why and thus provoked everything that happened from there on.

I am repeatedly disgusted by the actions of the government (the ATF in particular) but even moreso by the LACK OF REACTION or awareness of most people. However, after seeing what gets broadcast on popular media, I can hardly blame them.

The simpsons have been on for many years. I am sure that the producers, writers, and artists are all bored to death with the show by now.

I agree that the show has been declining in quality. But that's part of the natural cycle of any television show. Let it die, encourage others take it's place.

  9. Best of both worlds on Ergonomic Keyboards · · Score: 1

I have a IBM super-clicky keyboard on my Linux box and a Belkin Ergoboard, which is a WONDERFUL keyboard, on my windows machine.

The IBM feels wonderful, and the loud, testasterone-rush-inducing clicks make it a keyboard I will never give away. I got it by luck from my sister who grabbed it out of the trash knowing I'd love it.. (I love her!)

The Belkin allows me to type faster, and the windows keys are useful in windows... Also, at $25-30 they are a great deal. We have 6 or so here at work and everyone loves them.

However, I've always wanted to learn how to use the DVORAK layout, those pit-keyboards, and most of all, a combination hand-help keyboard ala the wearable computers. Anyone have any experience with any of these?

I'm from the "more keys are better" school of thought. I currently have a old IBM super-clicky keyboard, a 121key programmable keyboard, which I love to death. At work I use a belkin keyboard, which I highly reccomend. It has windows keys, but it's a split design and raises up in the front instead of the back to give you good wrist support. The 'correct' way of typing is with your wrists in the air, but who really types like that? I am still in search of the 120+ key split, programmable keyboard with good feel to it. Anyone else have any brand loyalty?

I find strings of random characters that I can type really really fast. For instance:

jfoels -- each key is on opp. side of keyboard.

How do I remember it? muscle memory. I know this probably isn't the greatest way, but it works. I HONESTLY couldn't recite my ATM code for the first month or two that I had it, but I could type the code in really fast because my fingers remembered how to do it.. How's *that* for secure?! :)
