Not that I like VHS in in any way shape or form... but my wife likes to tape shows and since we can't afford a PVR we have to settle for taping the old fassion way. Anyway, to make a long storry short, we went to the two walmarts in our city, and both were completely sold out of Blank VHS tapes..... so I guess some people will not let it die:-)
That is what the article says.. but do you believe everything you read... Those 11 are the ones that got out to the press... I would not be surprised if there were many many more
What is scary is that they actually lost the bomb. I mean really.. how do you loose a hydrogen thermonuclear bomb... and have it lost for over 4 decades. I wonder how many more bombs they have "lost". You would think that finding them would sort of be on the high importantance list...
Not sure who your friend is that is a born again christian, however, I must say that his idea of other christain docturns is purly a personal one or at best an idea comming from his/her particular church. The Bible cleary says that christians are not to pass judgement on others and to say that "the church" (I believe you are refering to catholics) are the spawn of Satin, would clearly be passing judgement on those people, and that is a job reserved for God himself.
I do believe that one of the definitions of being a christian is to know and believe the scriptues. The Bible says that "all scripute is God breathed". Terefore, if you believe that the Bible is true, then you have to believe that the verses within it are true as well, otherwise you could pick and choose and this of course would bring out more denominations (which is unfortunitly what has happened).
Not to critical of your terminology, however, the term "Born Again" is sometimes not completly the same depending on the denomination (such as catholic, baptist, penicostal, etc). The Bible speaks in many places about being saved (or born again). In one spot it gives a very clear definition as to what being saved is. Ephesians 2 (one of the books in the bible) says "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God". And Romans (another book in the bible) says "That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
For some denominations have moved away from this to include "extra" things, or have made exclusion lists.. and this is unfortunite. Jesus Christ was God's Son. He came to earth, lived a life without sin (which no one has ever done before or again) and died on the cross so that our sin (our being anyone who confess Jesus is the Lord). He could have just said your all going to hell, but he did not.
Being a Christian means to stive to me more Christ Like. Since he did not condem anyone, neither should we.
Anyway, you seem to be very set in your belief about disbelief, so I hope what I have said does not insult you.
"Just because somethings there doesnt mean you have an automatic right to usage"
Very interesting arguement. As a bit of an aside from wireless... I am not sure why people do not use this arguement when it comes to downloading things off of the internet such as music, movies, software, etc.
I don't understand where people get the attitudes they have on buying music and/or software. It has a price on it because you are supposed to buy it. If you don't pay for it then you are stealing it. Just because it is on the internet and you can download it does not mean it should be free. It also does not mean that you should get to decide if "it is right for you to download it because you don't agree with the law".
An example. If you don't agree that you should have to pay for you groceries when you go to the grocery store because you feel that you must eat to survive. Does that mean you should be able to just fill up your cart and walk out the door free of charge ? Or how about when you get gas...
Is the attitude, "the gas companies are billion airs.. they don't need any more money. why should I have to pay for this gas" ok ?
Of course not. These idea's are obsurd. They are obsurd because they are illigal, and if cought you would be charged with a criminal offence. The only difference with the "not paying for music or movies or software or whatever" online is that for the most part, people get away with it. And because they get away with it they immediatly feel that it is now their right to, in essance" do what every they want to online.. no matter if it is technically breaking the law or not.
Sorry to rant...
Once a consumer purchases something, in my opinion, it should be theirs to do whatever they whish with it, as long as it pertains to personal use. If you bout the game for the purpose of takeing it appart and reverse enginerrring it so that you could make your own product, then this is obviously not for personal use. However, If what you are doing is only for yourself, and will nevever be used by someone else, then there is no reason a consumer should be restriced from making a ROM / backup copy of their game.
Courts have to start using common cense.
I agree. Also, I have an uncle who went over seas to do some civl engineering. He could not get out. Was supposed to be able to come home at christmas time (2002), they would not let him out of the country until May 2003, and he was required to go back on account of his contract. Overseas is a BAD idea.

They have to make a law.. SOON... that makes it so you can only patent a physical item.. not "the right to " ie. the right to put adds in space, or the right to have a back button on your web page...
