  1. The bailout were not necessary and I never agreed with you. In fact they were pure evil. The government picked winners and losers and didn't apply the conditions of the bailouts fairly. Did you know for instance that Washington Mutual was NOT bailed out and instead a backroom deal was brokered with Chase Bank to buy the assets of pennies for the dollar even though the market was ready to pay more? If the government saw that solution in one instance, why not apply it to all instances?

  2. It was a joke. I was being obtuse on purpose for the comedic effect.

    2) A small hint of hope for a better life after the environmental disaster

  10. Apparently it is. So here is the deal. I worked at several small-medium size businesses that owned their own phone systems. They would set up the phone system so that whichever line called out, the caller ID would show the 800 number. This is a legitimate use of overriding the Caller ID. The problem is that Telcos don't expend any effort whatsoever to validate that the number being sent is actually a legitimate number and is associated with the business/person in question. Really, there should be some sort of verification process similar to that for obtaining an SSL Certificate for a website where you validate that you own the number you are sending. Then you can only send that number and no some other number unless you go through the verification process again.

  11. AT&T breaches contract all the time. They know that small businesses can't retain lawyers and they will not be sued.

  12. I'm a Republican/Libertarian and I wanted the companies to be allowed to fail. The bailouts were the problem. Failure needs to hurt otherwise people just keep doing the same things over and over again.

Woosh. You can definitely "win" an argument in that you win over popular opinion. Logical fallacies are actually excellent ways to win over many audiences. More informed and logical audiences will not be swayed.

Calling Elon Musk a scam artist would be a simple assertion if it occurred in a vacuum. However, context matters and if you post this in an article where Elon is saying that Tesla will do great in the future then the assertion is actually and argument used to dismiss Elon's argument. In this case, it is an ad hominem.
