Yes, but as Paris Hilton said why don't we harvest all the oil we have here in the United States as a mean of bridging the gap between now and when locally generated energy sources can start to take over with major percentages. Right now 10% is the goal for most power companies for renewable. When that gets to 80% then we can ditch oil for good and just have a few natural gas power plants to fill the gaps between renewable plant's output.

Dude, with DVI for instance you can tell because the connector is shaped differently (smaller on one side of the trapezoid). However with USB its a rectangle and only looking at the end (or the logo) and then into the end of the slot will allow you to see which way it goes. That is IF you can even fit your head into the area you need to look at.

This is moronic. The browser has been awesome for applications even simply for the fact that it forces user interfaces that are usable as opposed to some of the shit I could come up with in Flash for instance that would confuse the fuck out of people. Have you ever browsed for flash based UIs? Its like stepping into the twilight zone. I mean seriously, tell me one thing you would like to do in an application that you can't do in a simple browser without some plug-ins. I mean obviously some things won't work well like highly interactive games or image editors. But for like 90% of all the business applications out there which account for more than 90% of the market for web programmers I can't think of anything wrong with using the browser the way it is.

What nobody has mentioned this far into the discussion is that a vast majority of the web pages that display things in javascript are not even written in javascript. Many are server side like aspx files that are then interpreted in a dynamic way into a combination of HTML and javascript to do the work that needs to be done on the client side.

I brought this up a while back when there was an article about how Microsoft was abandoning javascript in favor of something else for use in the next .net framework. I think that was a mistake. Javascript can be made to do anything that is needed client side. Anything else should be handled by a post back and taken care of server-side.

Not quite there. Speed law is not about safety I will give you that. However the regulations that deal with "RIGHT of WAY" are VERY important. It's not that they just make things predictable; they stop people from asserting a right of way that they should not be asserting. Eventually you will have a merge even in a roundabout. The law says that the traffic already going that way has the right of way and the merging traffic needs to YIELD. If they did not need to yield then both cars would assume the right of way and crash into each other.

Another rule that is important is people going straight on a street and people turning right. The right turn people have to come to a stop and yield the right of way. If they didn't do that there would be side impact traffic collisions all the time.
