    I would love this as a kitchen computer. Turn on it on to read mail, get the weather forecast, tv-programme, online calendar, all that stuff you want to be instantly available. I'm not a fan of having computers turned on all the time, they make noise and burn energy. But they need to cut the price to about half.

    So mandriva is spring released? Am I the only thinking that huge springs launching mandriva discs into the atmosphere, to spread it around the globe, is a poor alternative to the present system of downloading distros over the internet?

    Could be that people with the given properties are more likely to catch the eukaryte (or whatever). I seems to me that men who take risks are more likely to ingest cat excretions, and would be less attractive to women.

    I don't see the problem. Search for "web search" and AltaVista comes out on top. Try "internet search" and Google isn't even there.

    JetBrains ReSharper doesn't work with VB.NET. Resharper gives you the tools to refactor easily and fast. Not the crappy, slow Visual Studio way. Apart from that, there is very little difference in what you can do in either language, the problem with VB is that the language itself sucks. Which looks better

    Google maps won't help much. Basically only the US is covered to a degree where you can actually see a village. Anc Africa is particularly bad.

    I fail to to see the relevance of this story. A good deal of the /. crowd live outside the US. And I can't really see it opening up a general discussion about where income taxes ought to be paid.

    Actually we have real football, not the fancy-dress grab-the-ball-and-run kind. We have apple pie and constitutionally protected rights, and we also have fair, open elections, which I'm sure you must envy us.

    While owning a handgun might seem sane to an American, it doesn't seem so from the other side of the pond. I have never even seen a handgun in my life (that's 39 years), and yet I'm alive and well and so is my whole family. My house has been burgled once, would the knowledge that I had a gun, have kept the burglars away, or would it have made them bear arms to be on the safe side?
