Well, BD+ has protected the discs from being bought by me so far, and I see no reason why I should not resist buying both discs and players for the full ten years. As a bonus, I haven't needed to upgrade my SD CRT telly since the late nineties.
No up front payment, and (for me) the usage patterns have stayed pretty constant. I am pretty sure i would have no problems changing to a *more* expensive plan if i suddenly needed more capacity. Less capacity would be a problem, true enough.
Is it really so bad to be locked in on your side of the pond? I pay £35 per month for 10hrs talk / 500 txt / 500MB for 18 months. This is for an HTC Desire that retails around £480. Similar service plan without a handset is about £15 per month.
Okay, so i build one of these doohickeys and set off downwind. The wind is blowing a steady 40 knots and soon I am whizzing along at maybe 44 knots, laughing and mooning at all the people who said it could not be done. Gradually, the wind blows more softly, but i am still outrunning the wind. Eventually the wind slows to 0 knots, but I sail merrily and perpetually on. Awesome.
I saw that episode and thought the fuel efficiency was measured inaccurately. They taped a small glass fuel reservoir to the window and measured how much fuel they used as they drove at a steady speed. Sounds good, but the distances were about a mile or so. I would have preferred them to have a cruise control hold the speed over twenty or thirty miles of flat road. Another obvious test would have been measuring the top speed achievable as that would give a good comparison of drag.
Pfft! I would like to see them TRY to invade England. Our mighty fleet of a handful of obsolescent fighting ships will easily fend off the invaders for the 60 years or so necessary for us to build up our power generating capacity to allow us to make steel (once we have rebuilt the steelworks) and buy back the industrial machinery we sold off abroad that we need to build that steel into tanks and ships (once we retrain all the brighter media studies graduates so they can add up and use a lathe). And it will be simple to flatten the flimsy chipboard houses (that replaced the factories) to make space for factories (and the rail network that got torn up and thrown away).
I just want the advertisers to cut out the middle men and pay me to see their ads. I will happily wallpaper my hovel with their billboard ads if I get paid for it. Stickers on the shaving mirror, whatever. Who knows, if I save up the advertising money, one day I might buy one of their products.
I thought the point of buying apple was that it all just works and you don't need to mess around installing stuff like some kind of retarded windoze/Loonix user? What next, a power supply connector that i need to manually unplug before i mince over to get another moccha-latte?
Yeah, get an old laptop and throw it under the couch or somewhere close, string a couple of wires to the TV (tv-out to SCART here in uk, YTVMV) and plug a wireless keyboard and wireless optical mouse in. Now you can lie on the couch and watch web content while filling the wireless keyboard with cheeto dust.
I shut down rather than hibernate as I can't predict which OS I will need to use next. Having to wait for the 'wrong' OS to come out of hibernation, then shutting it down, is very annoying.
I don't see lat-long positions of affected areas on there, but maybe just a matter of time. I still think it hinges on the government agencies involved being both competent and honest, though.
I am still waiting for HD to become the norm. I keep looking at flat panels to replace my old Panachronic CRT Telly and there are still many 'HD-ready' 1024x768 LCD units for sale. Maybe everyone figures that this is enough for playing the camcorder-footage-based DVDs that they buy for a couple of bucks?
Really? Announced ahead of time? Where? And if the utilities know ahead of time where pipes will burst or trees blow over, why the heck don't they do preventative maintenance?
Nah, imagine a street with a 40mph limit and a steady stream of robocars doing 39.99999mph. Just set up some roadworks and a temporary 20mph limit for 'safety'. $Ker-ching, $Ker-ching, $Ker-ching, $Ker-ching, $Ker-ching.

Maybe she should star in yet another remake of the Stepford wives, only this time it is valuable robots being replaced by humans.

Phew! I thought you were going to mention the nazis.

How do you know there is no pirated software/media on your computer if gits are pirating stuff then selling it?
What a guy!

What is the frame made of if it is not thin sheet metal? I cut a car (well, a Mini) in two and thin sheet metal was all i found.
Well, it depends if it is the one guy who gets to make a decision. We plebs don't get a say in the decisions or laws made, you know.

Money.
Money will decide what is an inacurrate fact.

If there is water, then there must be whales. Neato!
Get your harpoons, lads!
That implies you may be able to boot Bieber. Good news for music lovers with big clumpy boots.

How about you forget these ridiculous plans and just go work at a petting zoo?
A bigger robot. Duh!
