  1. Upsell Uphell on Taiwan Develops Face-Recognition Vending Machine · · Score: 1

So basically vending machines will prey on people by upselling with no associated staffing costs. Minimum wage workers have been proven effective shame 'sheeple' into buying extra crap by merely begging at them. Now they can make extra sales to the even lower estemed and dumb people with no cost except the frustration and temple pressure caused to the non-stupid, who will probably deal with it to get the product they are after. Buy a 20 pack of AA batteries every once in awhile and be done with it.

a 2 or 4 gig memory card in a good 4.0 megapixel camera will take about 1500 or 3000 pictures. not switching memory chips means not losing them.

I buy AA cameras most of the time so it will continue to work without having to buy a new lion battery every 2 years. the li-on batteries go bad after 2 years no matter how much or little you use them.

    I disagree.

People are polarized because TV chooses the issues and topics; people take sides on the topics and are polarized on a national level.

Media on the internet is decentralized. People will revolve more around the issues and topics that are important to them and less so about abortion and other TV injected issues.

So there will be many people talking about many subjects. If someone is talking about a issue you aren't interested in it will be easier to simply ignore the issue instead of taking an agreeable or opposing view.

I don't think your use if 'isolated' fits here because people will be able to associate with who they want.

The lost innovation could have cured the problem of ~7,000 children that die each day because of toxic water, the energy problem, the ozone problem, and pretty much everything else. If society simply used the technology avail and ignored the MS's of the world and patent trolls.. the world still wouldn't be perfect, but it wouldn't insanely suck freak dick like gate's.
