    And i at first was wondering if it was a pre-last act of desperation, given we recently read that a group (AMD?) showed that it now not only is possible for virtualization to hop between processors & families, but vendors, too. Then, i thought, "Damn! They're killing our Easy Bake Otis Spunkmeyer Mall operations... Shit, we have to start selling Chewy Gooey Betty Crocker Brownies, too for better product/platform diversification..."

    Despite McCain's longer record and having "more scars", picking Palin, letting her go rogue, and losing his cool --if there ever was any left-- were tantamount to death by a thousand cuts, 998, 999, and 1,000, sandwiched between 997 1,001+ when saying dumb shht like the US might be/have to stay in Iraq at least a hundred years. Most rational, sane people neither WANT nor want to HEAR that. Now, if Obama's team proves stellarly fit for the upcoming work, they may obsolete mil duty as a qual.

    Obama is a better, fresher rubject for not only the USA' future, but the majority of the rest of the world expqessed relhef or optimism. That is quite telling. Also, Obama was calmer and less hostile more often than his formdr opponent. McCain doomed his campaign with a stunningly, supremely heavy albatross of an exquisitly poorly vetted running mate, probably to suckle up to the women who favored Hillary, who mostly voted that Palin was no friend of theirs. And, Whites made this change work.

Whether this cure is the prize from bone-cracking, back-breaking, or just plain old scintillating responses, that this science is making progress could be "God's" work to once again show human (especially a number of majoq, organized yet divisive churches) their odious, insidious, insipid and myopic and discriminatory ways must be overcome and shamed or, hopefully, enlightened out of existence. This is great science!

    On first reading, i thought this was a distro with a USB peripheral that the user strapped on like an oxygen mask. When doing what some do while using the computer to process the imagery into physical conversion of energy to work, the device would suck in the exhalations and process the various bits and such for upstream comparison to other users. This might improve the quality of porn... some... how...

    Maybe the disro could be called "Breathless" or (in UK pronunciation) "Con-Troh-Ver-see" (for it being a controversial distro)... Or, "KomPyut"

    Too bad MOST of the world sucks off ms' tit, when like Tang, Hi-C, KoolAid, Gatorade and others there are more drinks to be had. There seriously ought to be a bust-up of ms' power. But, if they go in the direction of facilitating nations' governments' spying on their respective (and opponents' and friends'citizens/agents/operatives), then that hegemonic beast will NEVER be put down, slain or at least crippled as it ought to be...

    I think what'll happen is the vendors that don't keep up will, as stated, fall by the wayside. BUT, i think mshaft is looking to be MORE like Apple in control of the not only the software, but the hardware as well. This might be mshaft's underhanded way of trying to "disincentivize" hardware makers from making hardware that is friendly or explorable to Linux.

    Beware those printer drivers... They may be embedded trackers. Either they log the printing in some special way, or they are not even printer drivers but something masquerading as them. I can't cite a source, but i seem to recall that a few years ago i read something to that effect. So, you THINK you need this driver, but really it's a security tool for those corporations needing it, or its an OS tool or a vendor tool.

    What i *hate/d* is installing a printer and seeing the installer say it will/needs to/suggests installing some 300 MB of stuff other than a driver which i feel should be a driver under 25 MB in size, if even that.

    As much as i hate what a call my crap-ass win 2k work computer that is a 1.66 GHz, 785 MB RAM, Dell Dimension 4400, from cold-boot up to desktop (aside from AVG) can be under 2 minutes to desktop and opening Out... LOOKOUTTTT, and a few other things. What sucks about my work computer is the graphics are insufficient for some ACAD drawings, and my Gateway 2000 CrystalScan 19" (glass) display annoys the SHIT out of me.

    Of course, my 1-year-old (by manufacture) Gateway P-6301 laptop with a cheap Intel chip, 1.44 GHZ, and 2GB RAM running VBox, AutoCAD, ViaCAD, Lotus SmartSuite, and other stuff still beats my ages-old desktop, but if YOUR desktop is slow enough to play around with Ubuntu (are you saying you can get in a game or 2 of Pysol or Frozen Bubble?), it must SUCK to have your windows computer...

    (I NEVER want to post anonymously on /. ... HOW do i turn off that check box? It should be made user-option on/off...)
