I've never used Facebook for any pro photos or photos that demand a level of detail to appreciate them. Facebook blows for displaying photos anyway because of the sheer fact that your photos are scaled down to a disgusting quality that's not even good enough to use for print. I can understand why the do this (!!!) but it's such a shame because facebook is a wonderful delivery mechanism of information and media.
Use Picasa, it's not made by a wannabe evil, world dominating organisation.
From a financial perspective and the decisions made in the past, they probably already have budget forecasts for the use of Microsoft Office suites for the next 25 years.
I'd argue that greater openness isn't what we should be striving to achieve. Openness stunts development because no one is trying to one-up each other and that having private, closed environments can be healthy in the development of new technologies.
If America and the USSR had open space programmes, do you think they'd still be assing around trying to get to the moon right now?
Is there any doubt that the Australian Government were locked in because of volume licenses and their user base familiarity to the Microsoft product anyway?
Is this really such a big issue? Microsoft isn't the personification of the devil, they're a business who are good at doing business. A little less tall poppy syndrome is in order.
That article doesn't change what I said. The major ISP's are having an influence on what happens here. This somewhat interim solution is a much more effective solution to the percieved problem.
Massive props to the major ISP's in Australia for standing up and showing the Government with action, what is the best course of action for Australia and it's citizens. .
It's really disappointing listening to the arguments from the Labor government as to why Australia needs an internet filter. Tugging on the heart strings of the parents promising to "help protect their children" with a defunct solution. .
I congratulate every Australian working hard to petition and protest about their rights and what is good for Australia. The people have spoken.
Why did I assume when I read the title of the post, that someone had cleared out and ninja'ed the App store on my iPhone.
So I immediately checked to see if it was still there, in my iPhone.
Owning apple products turns you into stupid.
So, I am sitting here at work, with a can of Diet Coke and a packet of mentos.
Mentos
Diet coke/Looks around, quickly drinks diet coke and swallows mentos
hehe
I remember when I was younger, my brother and I would collect some empty softdrink bottles, put a bit of water in them, connect them to an air compressor and shoot them into the air. The reverse (shooting liquid into the air) looks like just as much fun.
Im going to patent walking.
So I can sue anyone I see walking to work or going for an afternoon stroll. You are allowed to drive or catch the bus, but not walk.
So its happened in Germany too:S
If Da Vinci Patented his ideas, we would all be screwed.
Whats the point really? 4 separate graphics cards in 1 PC case? I have 1 7900GT and that loud enough, I wouldnt want to hear 4 of them at once!
Realistically, its all aimed at the high end user market who would are more likely to purchace high end QuadroFX cards. I hope I dont see this on the consumer market any time soon, I would just feel compelled to upgrade again.
I do believe that there is no need to force this technology onto the gaming scene, game developers arent making use of the dual core CPU benefits. CPU's are still the bottleneck of the gaming world at the moment. You will see a FPS limit on benchmarks purely because of CPU limitations. More 3d Mark Wank scores sure but who cares about them:P
Why spend all this time and money investing in 4 single core cards in SLI, a 3 year old technology? Why not put some time into developing more robust and scalable applications for video cards, more to what crossfire is all about. I would lean towards a dual core GPU card rather than 2 or 4 cards in SLI. Think about all the savings in power and heat.
That sentence was designed to point out the irony ;)
Maybe George Hotz is a Gnome fanboi. Seems like a timely response to the announcement that he has begun employment with Facebook - just sayin' ;)

Am I the only person who still buys their music from a record store?

It's election time guys, have your say.
This is rediculous.
