Just knock off work an hour earlier. :) Noon is by definition the middle of the day and the easiest time to physically determine, right? (Your shadow points North at noon.) My vote is to just pick a time and leave it there. DST back and forth sucks.

While it probably won't happen in my lifetime, space is probably the only hope for finding a use for that "infinite supply" of "human labor".

We're going to need robots to make it happen. All the laborers are just going to have to become smarter than the robots. It's called progress.

...with a 1997 Corvette. :) Yes, the hybrids are great for city driving, but I've regularly gotten 30 mpg (EPA suggests 28) on the highway with the cruise set at 75+ MPH. I think that's darn good for a car with a 5.7L V8 engine. If you read all of the first link on Wired you'll notice that the LAW requires dealers to ONLY advertise the EPA fuel numbers. It isn't Honda/Toyota's fault if they're wrong!

God I miss pSOS... I am currently doing a development project with MonteVista's version of embedded Linux. It's nice, but I certainly wouldn't want to fly on an airplane that uses their RTOS... Especially if some of my co-workers wrote the code!
