Hmm much of this thread rings very very true.
I get calls that start with "That piece of *%^# computer did..."
After ten minutes I still don't know what the actual problem is.
Also "everyone else can't be having this problem or no one would use a computer"
Response "Not everyone goes to casino web sites and gets several hundred spy ware programs"
The other side of the family's computer works better until the grandkids get ahold of. It is never the same after that. I am reinstalling an OS
over the holidays because of it.
Sigh...
They need a full cleaning of the computer from spyware. They bring it here same day and wait for it to be done.
I need a serpatine belt on my car and it takes 3 weeks...
I guess I love them anyway...

Moon Bounce for imformation storage
on
Operation Moon Bounce
·
· Score: 2, Interesting
I read a SF book that used the moon bounce technique to store data. They had markers on the moon for navigation (just reflectors in the rock) People would use a transmitter on earth to send a burst of data to the moon and let it bounce back then retransmit it without storing it. just a loop. You could fit a certain amount of data in the lag.
They used it on farther objects to get longer delays. Kind of a strange idea.

Might work if not for the MPAA/RIAA they will screw it up some how.
I look for them to start redoing the comercials of the 80's that were done for polution.
hmmm "A MPAA guy (older man looking haggard) looking over a of poor hollywood types that are starving and turns to the camera with a tear down running down his cheek"
Sigh...
My wife and I used # 3. Just used a bar of Regular soap and ran it through the food processor using the cheese grater blade. Worked great. Did a few bars and stuck them in ziplocks so we don't have to do them for a while.
Anyway the stuff works! Clothes are clean and just a few cents a gallon. We did it just for fun but it works good so we are going to keep using it.

I have read dozens of books with my Palm 505. The backlight is VERY important. I have a palm V that worked ok but you needed good lighting. I like the ability to use SD cards I have one card with 30 or so books waiting to be read. Gives me a choice on my next read that way.
iSilo has a has a windows based program that creates files for its reader than compresses up to 20 percent better that standard doc files. More books!!!
When the sirens actually work that is...
Or how about when they go off by accident. That can make your day. (It has happened. (I am just next to middletown...) I never did pick up the potassium iodine pills. Meant too.
My wife and I live a few miles from the reactor. I lived here during the accident. I still feel a little stange when I drive by it. Unfounded but its in the back of my mind. and no the streets do not glow. I used to know one person who able to look directly out the window at it. (accross the street riverside. They did move out for a bit durring the accident. Can't say I blame them.
I figure in some ways it is probably the most watched reactor in the us now. They can't screw up... Heh.
My wife and I both play games. In fact we love to team play. Works out great. Seems to have replaced watching tv and we both enjoy it. Box

Maybe they could store the data in Googles Gmail System? Multiple accounts. Yes I know it was a joke...
Hmmm. Isn't that what Ender said? Wait, was that just a book?
