ppsstt... They distribute Linux distribution via bittorrent for a reason. The overwhelming demand at release is fairly massive. BitTorrent does qualify as P2P. This particular case would read FTP server brought to it's kness due to overwhelming demand for an open source software.

As far as them feeding their kids... Perhaps they should get a job that attempts to better society. To U2's credit they do seem to give back a little piece... But "artists" unlike Linus don't contribute significantly to the betterment of society. The Open Source community has helped to drive the cost of computers down by providing lower cost computers. This then allows greater access for people to reach the internet and perhaps improve themselves by learning more. The Open Source community is trying to help others in their own little way.
Society needs alot LESS "artists" and alot more Teachers, Engineers, IT folks, Programmers and Scientists.
Try Open Source software. So explain to Linus Torvalds that his life has no value. He and many others have poured their hearts out only to share with everyone in the world. You define value with respect to money... Their are other values like the pride and pleasure of people enjoying your work.
The Internet should remain as is... If some country doesn't like it then go make your own internet and stop bothering us. I encourage them to disconnect themselves from the rest of us and take control of their own area.
Your ignorance is painful... with patent law the Abstract section means nothing. The Claims section is what is patented and therefore what you need to infringe on in order to violate the patent.

The only reason I bought an Xbox was for this purpose... Now I have 3 and none of them have mods chips since you can flash the onboard bios (Mechwarrior exploit). I own the hardware so I do as I will with it. Obviously I would not ask Mikeysoft to fix it if it broke at this point since it is not in the original purchased condition.
With the notorious failures of the Thompson DVDROM in the Xbox I certainly backup my games to my upgraded Xbox hard drive. I would like to say thanks to M$ for making it so easy to modify. Nothing like a $130 (refurbed) networked DVD/mpg/m2v/mp3 player for the living room.
