It is just there. It is neither for nor against you. Turning your internet connection or WiFi off is, indeed, a good idea.
I tend to have a similar problem, though not as severe as in the OP's case. When I really need to get some work done, I often go to the National Library, a stately old building in Vienna, and settle for a nice place in a studying room, close to a window with a view upon the garden. Of course, I turn WiFi off. Amazing what one can do in one day.
I mean - honestly, people, for how long are you, US citizens, going to take this kind of nonsense ? And yes, am I glad I live in Europe... The US are, I repeat and insist, a nascent police state.
Allright, mod me down into oblivion, but...they just can't get it working, the poor Brits, can they ? Just like the mile against the kilometer and the pound against the kilogram: changing for better and simpler is so hard.
Forget recording. Writing a diary is a good way to enhance your skills at language manipulation, introspection, and self-reflection. Recording brings you nothing of all these.
I am the one, Orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand
My image is of agony, my servants rape the land
Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain
Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name
Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law
My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore.
I twist the truth, I rule the world, my crown is called deceit
I am the emperor of lies, you grovel at my feet
I rob you and I slaughter you, your downfall is my gain
And still you play the sycophant and revel in you pain
And all my promises are lies, all my love is hate
I am the politician, and I decide your fate
I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight
I speak of great heroic days, of victory and might
I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave
I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave
Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown
For I am Mars, the god of war, and I will cut you down.
Amen, brother. I even make a sort of game out of trying what software actually runs on CUDA cards. Last time I checked, Netbeans 7.3 RC 1 ( or was it 2 ? ) with Java 8 early-release ran flawlessly. With all the Maven projects I tend to have opened simultaneously, saves me about 2 Gb of RAM. And then some Core i7 computing power, much needed elsewhere.
Now this is funny and remarkable, Sir. You appear, here in my Slashdot GUI, with the green-red sign of "foe of a friend". Now, whose foe you may be, I do not care. Yet, you are in danger of becoming my enemy for playing an argument ad hominem , which is absolutely not done in a discussion between polite adults.
I thought the security craze in all its blazing public visibility was limited to the UK and a few other European countries ( especially the Netherlands ). The Control State, AAMOF, looks more and more like a "soft" version of a police state. See the Nanny State in GB and NL. But upon reading this, I begin to think that the USA, too, will succomb to this ligth-chocolate-brown dictatorial regime.

What ?? Registered national porn ? Where are you living ?

Because he needs a change from goatse.cx, that's why
US = nascent police state.

:-D
Definitely. But what a show there would be, if this 50-km ( !! ) rock DID hit :-P
Atlantis DID go south, only what you get radically differs from what Plato thought there was: not philosophers, but tiny apes inhabit it.

In and by itself, it is quite amazing that we still, all of us, tacitly accept state-issued currencies as the only trustworthy ones, isn't it ?

... do creep up. Wasn't "Acherontia Styx" the name of the butterfly whose chrysalis was in at least one of the victims' mouth ??
It also has the feathers of one, and pecks at your wallet like one. But then again, I am not a consumer.
That was the most pedantic comment I got, ever, upon a Slasdhot post. Congratulations, sir, you broke the pedantry sound barrier in my user space.
...or does TFA, just like the OP, only look that way ?
You, Sir, must be either high on THC or drunk, or both.

So one could theoretically, through this very API, gather signatures for this API to be discontinued ?
Does this API propose a "disunion" feature ?
June 1. is my birthday.... Dunnowhattothinkofthat.
... of Microsoft going bankrupt soon. ( I believe it was on New Year's Eve ).
...and sitting, totally soberm, in a train hurtling through early-morning Europe, this "news item" strikes me as particularly gross. Bweurk.
