    I know of no trials in which the State was the plaintiff where anyone, in Germany or America, was charged with being of a certain race or religion.
    I don't know about that, anti-miscegenation laws did exist on the books, and people were not doubt prosecuted under said laws. Although you are mostly correct GPP probably meant to say persecuted.

    Oh you poor misguided canuck, I do believe you'll be singing a different tune when the Russians come for the oil buried under the artic. Yes, the parent poster was using the American definition of liberal, as in cares too much about what a bunch of european snobs(who care so much about carbon emissions, then use a fleet of private planes to fly to a mountain top retreat to hold a summit) think. Don't get me wrong the other party in the US is no picnic either, they've got God on their side.

    What sucks a bit though is that it is slightly underpowered for a 125 (11 hp/95 kph).
    11 hp? Dude my self propelled lawn mower has a 5hp engine, btw 95kph ~ 59 mph that speed would get you killed on most major roads in the US. Might as well have purchased a moped.

    take exception with the union example. I do not believe that the RIAA is a union of independent artists as they purport themselves to be by the standard English definitions of the worlds "independent" and "artists".
    I believe the OP meant "union" as a group of people who have outlived their usefulness and merely serve as a net drain on society. After all is putting groceries into a bag really a trade or skill that should require an apprenticeship? Now speaking ill of unions should burn me some karma, but it was worth it.

    An old saying comes to mind,"Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6." Of course this device isn't a toy and I am sure your local news will run the story of the young man who now can't enjoy a viewmaster or drive at night due to lasing his eye. But you can't always protect people from themselves nor should you try.

Seriously people get over yourselves no one cares if you listen to Ogg files, the rest of the world is still playing MP3s on our MP3 players.     Hey, Elton's actually made music that isn't the same canned love-song crap.The songs he writes are autobiographical, about people important to him, about things important to his lyricist, etc.

    No doubt they know nothing of the fire bombing of Dresden. Though perhaps your coworkers realized that the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki prevented the need for an invasion of mainland Japan, which would have lead to massive casualties on both sides. But hey if it soothes your bleeding heart to feel bad about Hiroshima and Nagasaki; feel free but, realize it may not be as black and white as you would like to pretend.

    First, don't lump chemical and biological with nuclear. Yes, I know analysts do it but I think it unfairly magnifies the threat level of the BC in NBC.
    Just for fun google 1919 flu pandemic, or think back to the halycon days of Avian Flu 0wns j00!!!! Before thinking that biological weapons are overrated in terms of lethality or terror.
