    Well we can play grammar nazi games all day(for example you pluralize WASPS instead of WASPs, unless the S stands for something); however, that would only distract from the point. Your supposition is that the people of Mexico are the "true" descendants of people who used to live in the area now called Hazelton, PA. Well, I guess we will agree to disagree about that, but hey if the Carthagians come to take your house, you'll let them since "they" will be the " true" native people of the Iberian peninsula. And if borders drawn after wars bother you, I would avoid looking at any maps for a while.

    You may want to google how many cars are set alight in Parisian suburbs before spouting how Europe has its(note the spelling) priorities better now. Also check out the friction in adding Turkey to the EU, if you think it's so great over there. As for the "real" native North Americans vis-a-vis the "Mexican War" why would the children of spanish conquistadors be any more native than the decendents of english, dutch, or scandanavian settlers? Btw, how does such diatribe get modded insightful?

    You have no right to actually keep anything you pay for in a foreign country, if you're not a Citizen there, and if the current government decides to take it away from you, that's just too bad. Don't like it?
    Please let me know when you are planning to travel and where, so I can illustrate the logical conclusion of these statements to you first hand.
      As for privately-owned oil fields, that's not true. They were "owned" by foreign companies.
    Since when does foreign company != private?

    Yep, in fact temperature has a MUCH higher degree of change on my vehicle. I generally get about 24-25MPG in the summer and only 22-23 in the winter.
    Depending on your location the formulation of your winter gas could have 5% more ethanol(ie. the Northeast US) which is less energy dense than standard gasoline. That would have a significant effect on observed fuel economy.

    That's not new. I don't recall an OS since Windows 95 that offered a compelling reason to upgrade.
    Spoken like someone who hasn't tried to get USB support for Windows 95. Or run into the fat32 2Gb file size limit. Btw, Vista could turn out like another WindowsME, so you may be borrowing trouble in your haste to deploy Vista.

    It's clear to everyone but Americans that the USA will become a cross between Brazil, Mexico and Russia, e.g. dysfunctional, within the next 25 years, and so a successor is needed.
    If you're trolling then, Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. If not, do you honestly believe in 25 years Europe will be any less dysfunctional than the US? Perhaps you should take a look at the Paris suburbs for a preview of the next 25 years.

    If the embargo was lifted tomorrow, Castro or no, people would stop leaving. But that will never happen, because the US is terrified that Cuba might prove that a Communist state can work.
    Well said tovarisch, you should join the John Kerry awkward comedy tour. That's is the funniest thing I've seen on the internet in a while. Actually, the reason why the embargo won't be lifted as long as Castro draws breath is the Cuban ex-pats in Florida would turn on which ever political party lifted the embargo, and Florida is a "swing" state in presidential elections.     There's a municipality near me where there is a widely-known "trash Nazi" who does exactly what you described the Japanese doing.
    Where I come from the solution to this problem would be to leave the cans on your lawn not the street, then shoot the offending "trash nazi" for trespassing. Problem solved.

    Umm, because the surface temperature of 735K and a pressure of 9.3 MPa makes colonization a little difficult. Not to mention the clouds of sulfuric acid. Heck why don't we try to colonize Io instead.

    It's been awhile since I've fed a troll so pardon me I'm a bit rusty. If I have to give money to a foreign economy I would much rather the money goes to a poor but aspiring economy where the work and the economic improvement makes a very significant improvement in the quality of life for a lot of people, than further feeding an economy that is already the largest in the world.
    As an american I am torn about exporting cures and aid to fight diseases since people outside of the US hold the following belief,"I have to say that when the whole of this is considered, it is a net negative for the U.S. But a net positive for the world."
      PS. When one of your neighbors gets uppity and decides he likes your land, resources, etc., Please don't go crying to any of the 5 perm. UN Sec. Council members located in the US or Europe.

    Just because our politicians have a propensity to subsidize special interests, doesn't mean we should abandon legislation because it could eventually be subverted. You could say the same thing about any bill.
    Actually, that is a pretty good reason to keep govt. out things except when absolutely necessary. The government that governs least governs best.

    Am I the only person with some High School chemistry knowledge that is very worried about wearing a huge chunk of magnesium with a Lithium-Ion detonator^W battery attached to it....

    Probably since this is most likely a magnesium alloy, thus no more likely to oxide very exothermically than the aluminum case on your old laptop should the lithium ion battery short and catch fire.

    I challenge you to explain how UN control would affect state censorship of the internet one way or the other.
    They(the UN) would probably set up a commitee w/ a rotating chair. This chair(a country) would then set the rules as to what constitutes censorship on the internet. That could be bad if say, North Korea would hold the chair of that commitee. Sort of like having Sudan voted onto the UN Commission on Human Rights. Oh wait...

    Using that logic, anytime I purchase something for a price cheaper than the absolute maximum price I'd be willing to pay, that's theft b/c the seller has "lost revenue". I hope you don't use coupons or buy one get one free b/c by your definition that's theft.

    What are you, Amish? What are you doing on /. then? Firearms are designed to propel a projectile through the air. Do your religious convictions(as if a set of superstitions is somehow better when you give them a serious name) allow you to enjoy archery, ballistas, catapults, or slingshots? Are you class restricted to melee weapons?
