I thought Google wanted to use green electricity and be CO2-neutral, and that doesn't require a specific place (well, a sunny and/or windy place would be nice).
Disclaimer: I am Dutch;)
First off, I don't think it has anything to do with religion, people just like to watch people and gossip about it, especially in small communities. You almost don't see this behaviour in the cities and in small towns it's reducing, I think (I live in a city myself). You can also look at this in an other perspective: Maybe the open curtains say: we have nothing to hide, look at us? Or maybe people just like to watch birds.
And I don't what you are trying to say about the "doe normaal"-saying: when someone wants to kick someone's ass: that's not conforming to "morally & socially" approved behaviour, is it wrong to say "please act normal" in that situation? Or when someone is shouting through the streets? Or when someone says he likes to have sex with dead chickens?
The problem is not the dependence of the USA to oil, but the fact the USA is destroying the environment and the whole world with it. 30% of the CO2 comes from the USA, that's just not right. In stead of building more defense, the USA should invest in uclear fusion, windmills, solar power, whatever. The USA could create a nuclear bomb in a few years, until this day the one thing that has the most destructive power, it's about time they're doing something nice with that same atoms: nuclear fusion. If the stake is high, and it is high, this should be done in a few years, just as 65 years ago.
What Linux needs is standardization. Having 921034 options to choose from is sometimes a good thing, but sometimes you have the feeling: why don't they just work all on 1 fantastic piece of software?
"Single-letter names under ".com," ".net" and ".org" were set aside in 1993 as engineers grew concerned about their ability to meet the expected explosion in demand for domain names. They weren't sure then whether a single database of names could hold millions -- more than 40 million in the case of ".com" today.
Six single-letter names already claimed at the time -- "q.com," "x.com, "z.com," "i.net," "q.net," and "x.org" -- were allowed to keep their names for the time being."

I, for one, welcome our new female shark overlords. Or should I say hermaphrodite sharks?
There must be some kind of trick here, I think. Why is this coming so late? It seems to good to be true, but I really hope it's true :)
America isn't the centre of the world. There's no conference in Africa too. And Where's New Delhi in the list?
A Beowulf cluster of THESE! That would be something.
On the English Wikipedia, that is.

Midgets.

That comparison makes absolutely no sense. :/
Just buy the most sucky acoustic guitar there is. For less money you have more fun with a real guitar!
How you like them apples?
Applesauce. Sweet.
Dude, don't take life that seriously. Go outside, enjoy the nature, make love / a pie / a tower of legos!
They're lucky Slashdot didn't linked to the project, otherwise they would've been DDOS'd for the second time.

Slashdot editors, please put it in the story?
So that's why they can't find my legion of cybernetic rabbits!
