Hmm. For print encyclopedias, you rarely know ahead of time exactly which volumes you will need. One entry may reference, or suggest an entry in another volume
I am actually surprised that Linux machines don't cost more than equivalent Windows machines, for two reasons: Windows machines are often subsidized by software that is added on by the OEM. Additionally, I believe that a machine with a working Linux setup is of more value than a working Windows machine.
And you know MS would hire hookers with syphilis. I think some people really underestimate Microsoft. They, like most other companies, are in it for the money.
I don't think so. I am not sure about this yet. Micrsoft, as a company, is very intelligent. They threw a lot of money at OOXML. I may not like their software offerings, but I fully admit Microsoft doesn't just waste money.
Since I rarely share these complaints, I would like to ask: is it because you guys are instinctively comparing it to what you are familiar with? Photoshop-GIMP, Maya-Blender, etc.
I have intentionally clicked on a google ad, more than once, esp. in Gmail where it is even more targeted. The only reason I didn't buy was due to lack of funds. I'm referring to the single line text ads.

Few other companies could market such a defective line of products for so long so well. Microsoft has the best marketing team that I am aware of.
People usually point out that the fact that ODF is not the product of only OO.org is in fact a good thing.
I'm not sure I would call changing how a basic data type is represented to be minor.
Success for them for sure. Say's nothing about the success/failure for the people actually buying it.

If they did that, then it wouldn't be a standard again, would it?
Hurricanes happen on land too. But then again tornadoes happen on the ocean too. Earthquakes do have little affect on vessels out in the ocean though.

So I didn't RTFA, but what's with the not allowing ODF as default setting?
Umm... so you agree with me, except for the buddy-buddy part? About that, I see a Microsoft-Novel full motion web ad almost every day these day.
So to recap:
RedHat is the company who makes OSS work as much as possible, and contributes huge amounts of work to all areas of OSS
Novel is the company who does a similar amount of work, maybe less, but has a lot of buddy-buddy Microsoft ads all over the internet
Canonical is the one who produces Ubuntu
It was very new a year ago.
Liberman isn't the government now is he.
What are you talking about?
One could argue that those videos are often copyrighted by the scientologists.
Will get the job very quickly, I can say that from experience. If you must have it it human readable, Python + XML.
Be careful with words like any. Total human destruction would also less our carbon footprint.
Exactly why they are more valuable.
Only savvy and/or education will get you out of such a title. Otherwise, your boss is the genius who hired you.
I thought the current OLPC screens were special high DPI screens which were perfect for reading, as opposed to generic portable DVD screens?
