little reciprocity? So you're saying Ubuntu doesn't already from all the upstream work RedHat does? Do they need to hire developers to work on Ubuntu or what?
Seems logical that obese people are disproportionately using up some resources. In the same way that professional racers are disproportionately using up carbon based fuels. I have seen really fat person it, and as a fatty myself, some scare me. But back to the story, seems like a logical corolation to me, very few obese people are fat and not eating much food.
Yes, because Sugar is supposed to be a general purpose window manager, as opposed to an environment targeted at kids with no specific experience with any operating system.
But my Linux desktops and servers seem just fine. And I don't trust my WindowsXP laptop with important data. At some point, there needs to be personal responsibility. In the same way that I need to make sure that the brake pads on my vehicle are in good order, people need to make sure that their software, whatever they choose, is also in good order.
Have you considered that's just how the devs whose machines you were on like it. Few people who use KDE leave it in its default state. Its trivial to replicate any look you want with KDE.
Any time my machine is doing wierd things that can't be explained by `top` and `ps aux`, I pull the cord at the back of the machine, then the ethernet, and come back on with a livecd.
I also say that if you truly are a citizen of your own country
you would stay there and work to make conditions better there
instead of running away from it.
I could not agree with this more, and I say that in all honesty. However, you have to admit, America has largely benefited from people _not_ doing this.
You may or may not know this, but the people who get H1B Visas are humans too. With families, feelings, etc. And as far as I know, they are no less worthy of a job than you are.
Last time I _didn't_ choose Asus when buying a motherboard, I really paid for it with wasted time and money. I don't plan to make that mistake again myself.
ISO,OLPC... soon Yahoo? Also, who is paying for all the Novel-Microsoft ads all over the internet?
That's quite an assumption, don't you think?
Currently there is not unnecessary pressure to meet these deadlines though. Do you really want to be THE project keeping everyone else behind?
I don't think projects hurrying to meet a specific deadline really benefits anyone.
How would RedHat benefit in your opinion?
I don't think this level of laziness should be encouraged

As you may have noticed, I can't detect spelling errors very well, my apologies.

No, this is... OLPC + Microsoft sucks, but Sugar is still a good idea.
I was under the impression that this was more of a voluntarily, albeit unwanted, exodus from OLPC by the devs who actually care about Sugar
Quite agreed

In MySQL at least, you can grant SELECT only access, prevent locks, limit runtime, etc, on a per user/host basis... wouldn't this be applicable here?
Have you considered that's just how the devs whose machines you were on like it. Few people who use KDE leave it in its default state. Its trivial to replicate any look you want with KDE.
If you think that KDE looks like Windows, you're not really using KDE

Installing Windows on most IDE/SATA interfaces cards requires a floppy. Grub does not require a floppy to reinstall, at least not for Fedora.

This is simply not true: CodeGear RAD Studio exists for those who want to develop with Microsoft's technologies
This isn't news inside of Slashdot, and it certainly isn't news outside of Slashdot.

Regardless of the OS, does this really count as desktop ?
