What's the point of having bandwidth limits _and_ download limits? And really, I don't think customers should have to pay because TW couldn't do the algebra to determine what hardware they needed based on the bandwidth they sold to each customer. THEY are the ones who marketted the bandwidth, its not like they had no idea how many bytes a month people could download.
I must be one of the few that just doesn't touch the stuff. I don't even generally like the smell. Never drank it -- coffee that is. And I only drink soda for lack of better fruit juice.
I believe half of/. needs to check themselves into a clinic.
kernel based mode setting (so it flickers a bit, XP also does this)
Well, I mean "we" are tring to be better than that though, right?
ext4 (more testing plz)
That's been in Fedora testing for quite some time. So I would leave that decision up to them and not assume they weren't testing it.
management tools for virtual machines
Better than virt-manager i take it?
to finally be able so sync my phone without jumping through hoops. Same with using a webcam. And I would love to run Office 2007 SP1 on it, since I could try converting some machines at work to Linux. This would make my live a LOT easier
That's a bit beyond the scope of a distribution though, no?
Assuming agism, I of the opinion that companies don't engage in agism just for the hell of it, but because they see some correlation between increased age and employee attributes that they prefer not to have. If that is true, your actual performance will probably be more important than your age.
What ever it takes to protect virtual property I guess.
I didn't say you couldn't buy RedHat. I said you can't buy what they have worked to accomplish.
You can't really buy what Redhat has worked to gain over the years.
Oracle is the also the one trying to sell RedHat knockoffs.
I would like to have the ability to consent to the details of my punishment. "Yes, you may search my apartment, but this is the last time".
I hate to go against the /. groupthink
There are only 20 something posts right now. Do you have some kind of psychic foresight on the /. group think yet to show itself?
Apperently not. My condolences to the family.

Even if it is temporary, isn't this the equivalent of temporary blindness while on the highway?

Drugs are bad, m-kay?
That's pretty sad.
quite a few people still cannot make suspend-to-RAM or suspend-to-disk work in Linux on their hardware
Does that work reliably on any open hardware platform? (Windows, Linux, BSD)
I don't care if it boots in 20 or 30 seconds
Apparently quite a few people do.

1) Have to 'reinstall' to upgrade to next version. I know there's a way to live upgrade, but it's still 'at your own risk' right?
Lookup `preupgrade`
2) openbsd-style netcat. Seriously, why reimplement netcat and change all the options? Hobbit forever.
I don't know. That's a bit obscure to hope it just fixes itself. Is there a bug number?
No.. the only company I would prefer buying Sun would be RedHat. And just for the sake of the useful Solaris IP, Java and OpenOffice.
We'll have to cancel their cable service. Also, I wonder how this will affect existing customers, can they add a cap after the contract?
At least it was funny with the pink ponies thing. Today it's just useless.
Name it after an adult diaper?
I'm sure manufactures can find one format that works on Linux and Mac. The only real problem is Windows.
If in 4.2 you couldn't get icons on your desktop, then you simply did not want them.
I get the feeling he meant Qt or something.

I understand why the most recent backup would be online, but I assumed it was standard procedure to have the remaining archive offline.
Those Tachikoma will do what ever it takes, especially once they gain individuality.
Windows has this. It's a cool feature. But this one is not provided by Gnome as far as I know, but by PulseAudio, correct me if I am wrong.
