I'll summarise the likely responses: you're just a Nintendo fan boy. But really, which ever company can do whatever. At the end of the day, I till think Sony is as evil as a non singular, inanimate thing can be. And I still like Mario Kart.
Why people feel that Google is obligated to do anything with their search results. They have the right to censor their search results however they like - their search results do not affect the existence of actual websites.
I know it's instant mod points to call copyright law bullshit, but come on.
I didn't do it for any mod points. I truly think this is all highly ridiculous and a mostly a waste of time.
These images have value.
The images having a value in and of it self is subjective, and also highly abstract - but more importantly, not at all worth all the trouble. I would like to believe the photo was taken to meet some need, and that need was not to be copyrighted. That is to say the value of the photo was alreayd used up. If the implication is that the photo was taken purely for copyright purposes, I find that even worse.
I don't know about Ubuntu, but I assume the following applies to it as well: with popular distros like Fedora, all you need to is enter the irc chatroom (irc://freenode/fedora) from any machine with internet access (it need not be the one you're installing Linux on) and ask your questions, clearly , but politely, and you're likely to get as much hand holding as is possible (limited to things like time of day since many people sleep)
Yes, I think that's a bit naive, and overly wishful thinking...save for some mass, global revolution. But I doubt it. Governments (as far as I understand) aren't typically known for being "for the people" for any significant portion of time. Even back in the days of Rome, leaders who were too "for the people" got assassinated.
Fair enough, I must have purchased at least 10 of their cards. But I guess that doesn't matter. And I always recommended creative sound cards to others who asked, but that too doesn't matter I suppose.
It seems this was registered by one "Stacy Munnn" of "Munn Multimedia", on contract to Microsoft (so says her resume - http://www.stacymunn.com/resume/index.htm) I'm sure all you slash dotters can WHOIS, but here you go:

Who is this you? unline Microsoft, Linux is not a single , profit driven entity. And that is the beauty of it. It was always designed to be a problem solving and technology driven entity. The GNU people helped a great deal with adding problem solving tools. I don't use Linux heavily because it I think it is generally easier (which I do), not because access to it is free (which I appreciate, and helps takes the complexity out of things)... but I use it because I think it suits me, and the majority of my needs better. Any need I have, or can think up which Linux (and software currently running on it) does not satisfy for me, would be satisfied by the Mac guys (and software running on it). So MS is free to take "me" seriously or not, it doesn't change the fact that Linux continues to solve my problems.
Exactly, I mean...doesn't MS at least try to sue anyone with a domain name that resembles or includes theirs? I know they are free to have their own Linux distro. But to use the name for their own promotional material, I find that a bit strange.

Now would be a good time to remind you that Sony doesn't give you a commision on every console sold, you really don't need to defend them - it's cool
I fear people like you the most of all: those who actual believe these things.
Not to infringe upon your right to choose: but you decided against buying a video game console because it doesn't play movies?

So much time wasted over such an abtract, and mostly useless concept.

Why don't ISPs start sending automated physical mail to home of obvious spam bots?
Isn't there some clause that a patent has to be non-obvious?
It's kinda sad that you figured that some people here would not be able to conclude that themselves.

I would be surprised if most of the music that is stll being bought is old music: Beetles, etc.
The laws aren't exactly written to benifit "the people" it seems. Go figure.
No offense, but the "how" is a bit of a stupid question: overprotective, ignorant parents being courted by do-anything politicians is the "how"
You say that as if Novel is offering much at all. Others are, Novel is mostly packaging them.
I wouldn't.... since you asked.
Geek porn
Maybe they have some useful hardware lying around the office. IBM could eBay it.

Since they are moving to Nvidia style drivers, as opposed to the open source drivers they had before.

Can Microsoft really have Linux in the domain name?
