Apparently, the bill's main purpose wasn't to establish a value of Pi, but to provide a method to square the circle. Doubly retarded! Also, why do we need LEGISLATION of squaring the circle? What political significance does this hold, other than the fact that politicians can't math?
Firefox also does this; they're called "quicksearches" (by Firefox, that is). And, you can define your own by right clicking the input field and clicking "Add keyword for this search...".
I concur, for the most part. A common misconception is that 754 was to be wiped out with the addition of 939, but 939 was just to replace 940 as the desktop processor performance socket. 940 is now exclusively for Opterons. 754 is as alive and kicking as 939, but with the advantage of a little more motherboard options, seeing as they've been out longer. 754 is going to be the midrange option of AMD processors.
I think the whole DDR and PCI-Express thing is kind of like comparing apples and oranges, though. They are (for the moment at least) Intel only.
There is always GNU Darwin [gnu-darwin.org]. It's no Mac OS X, but it uses the same kernel.
Or you could emulate your x86 processor to act like a PowerPC one with PearPC [sourceforge.net], and then install Mac OS X. Might be best to go with the real thing, though.
I might consider Longhorn, if a machine with these specs comes with boxed software, which isn't likely. This doesn't seem very realistic to me, but only time will tell what the future holds.
On another note, I'm running XP on a machine with:
AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (1.53GHz) processor
1 Gigabyte of RAM
18.6 Gigabyte Hard Disk
Unknown brand of graphics card with 8 Megabytes of memory.
Very modest specs ( except for maybe the RAM, but it does give me alot of freedom ), but XP runs with ease on this machine( and I'm guessing the same can be said for others with even more modest specs ), and I'll probably ride it till she dies. If Longhorn is this thirsty for new technology by the time XP becomes outdated and Longhorn is out I'm sure I could install one of the many flavors of Linux on here.
Ah, how silly of me! There can only be ONE highlander, after all.

And God created the Flying Spaghetti Monster!

They have few default ones, though.
Can we fix the typo before someone else makes a lame joke about AMD65?
Microsoft isn't a trademark; it's the company. Windows, however, is a trademark of Microsoft.

Well, if you want to get all semantics about it, it's and ordered list, rather than a paragraph. ;)
