    Thats why I made my promise with my friends.
    If everyone voted for the person they really wanted;
    instead of voting defensively against the guy that they don't want;
    maybe we could spark a new era of American Politics.

    The democrats that I know don't like John Kerry.
    And I'd say at least half the conservatives I know don't like Bush (Of course the religious ones love him).

    But they're going to vote against each other because thats what the media gives them.
    John Jackson vs. Jack Johnson.

    If they'd only wake up and vote for someone who really represents what they want;
    Maybe our political system would change;
    Maybe people could control the government rather than business;
    Maybe common sense could prevail.

    I agree 100%.
    I've made a commitment with some of my friends that we will not vote for the lesser of 2 evils
    but instead we will vote for who we really want to be in office.
    My democrat friends all want to vote for Kerry because they hate Bush.
    And my conservative friends all want to vote for Bush because they like Bush.
    I hate them both.
    To tell truth though I havn't seen any politician that I like.
    It's sad...
    I really want to contribute to a better world, but I don't see how I can.

    Back in school we used to have to write the whole program out on paper first, that was a f-ing joke.
    I have never written code with pen and paper;
    I may write ideas & conditional statements, but never code.

    The hardcover edition was published in 2000.
    The paperback edition was published in 2001.

    That being said, I don't believe they didn't know that katie.com was already in use.

    According to the article @ wired he signed a contract:

    "The company said it owned Brown's idea because of a signed employment agreement requiring him to disclose any inventions he conceived of or developed while at the company."

    Sadly right/wrong doesn't matter if it's legal...

    Yeah I assumed that since he said it "Has gotten better and better over the years"; that he was refering to all of the HL family;
    considering HL hasn't changed since it was released, therefore it could no have 'gotten better' than it was originally.

    I hope that was sarcastic.
    Valve continues to make dramatic changes to game play in Counter Strike without consulting their customer base.
    Anyone remember restarting your $60/month CS server only to find out Valve fucked the AWP --without warning you?
    And suddenly dulies are powerful?
    I have a screen shot of a guy landing 10 hits from a glock
    (2 headshots, 3 chest, 1 left leg, 1 right leg, 1 left arm, 2 right arm)
    for a total of 34 dmg.
    And a week later you switch it to burst fire and bam! 2 head shots = instant death.
    Sure tons and tons of people still play it, but you can step into any server and observe players have conversations about CS's slow agonizing downward spiral.

    AT&T provides my boss with email sent directly to his phone,
    as far as he knows he doesn't pay any extra fee for this service.

    Heh, luckly nothing bad happened.
    The guy just banged his tire into the door.
    I just wasn't used to bikers on the road
    (Much less bikers flying through intersections during a red light).
    I won't ever make that mistake again though.

    I was just commenting on the social attituded that in my local people have toward bikers.
    I don't agree with it.

    Accually I live ~1 mile from my work,
    but I have to cross a 4 lane road,
    with no crosswalk,
    traffic is horrible,
    and there are no sidewalks.

    To be honest I could try biking on the road,
    but I'm afraid of getting hit.

    The closest grocery store is about 4 miles away.
    When I was a kid I lived about 2 miles closer,
    and I did bike to it once, but I got my in trouble from my parents.
    (It's too dangerous!!)

    I visited San Francisco erlier this summer and made the mistake of opening my car door at a stoplight.
    A biker ran right into the door then he cussed me out.
    I felt bad, but I'd never seen anything like it before.
    There are zero bikers in Oklahoma, and for good reason though;
    There are zero sidewalks in Oklahoma.
    Basically the only option walkers/bikers have is the ditch or the road.
    I'd love to bike, if I could.
    But when a driver sees a biker on the road they get pissed. (It's their road, after all right?)

    They bundled IE with Windows to crush Netscape.

    Now they're bundling a web search into the desktop to crush Google.

    If MS really wanted to be innovative they would
    let the user choose one or more search engin(s)
    to use with this feature.

    I have huge library of cached online articles & personally typed texts that I would love to be
    able to search through and store in one place.
    It would be awesome if I could carry this device
    around with me and refrence articles during discussion.
    Sadly though, I doubt a device like this would
    ever get pushed by publishers.

    My dream reader:

    *I should have the ability to upload my own texts.

    *The text needs to be searchable.

    *It should support multiple formats;
    or a converter from multiple formats:
    html,txt,doc,pdf,xml, etc..

    *It should have massive storage space;
    with support for hundreds of thousands of texts.

    *It should be fairly small so I can carry it everywhere.

    It would be awesome if there were a DVD interface
    to the data.
    Like you could pop the dvd into your dvd player
    and navigate through the articles via your remote.
    I'd definatly buy it.
    I know this isn't what the parent post had in mind;
    but it would still be cool.

    Same thing here, but I have a regular job; 8am to 5pm.

    There are days where I just go to bed as soon as I get home; and I wake up at Midnight, code for a few hours and go to work at 8.

    But then there are days where I stay up until 5am;
    sleep a couple hours, go to work and stay up until 5am again.

    It's so random; it's just annoying.

    Everyone around me can keep regular hours, but I never feel tired at the same time on successive days.

    It would be interesting to find out what percentage of the population even owns a computer. According to this story. "Middle class folks (who would be desperately poor by US standards), have decent homes, cars, most likely a computer."
