Most of us here at/. are fairly tech savvy so I'm sure we don't fall for stuff like this, but... I was shopping at the local BB and I over heard a couple of the employees double-teaming a customer. The customer was trying to convince his wife that he needed a 20g USB HD. The first employee was answering the customers questions when the second employee came up and started talking to the first employee. #2 pretened like he didn't even see the customers, and he told #1 "OH Man! Those drives are so fast! We did some testing the other day in the back room and they were just so quick man, you wouldn't believe it." Then #2 walked away, still pretending like he never saw the customers. I almost told the guy they were fscking him over, but I didn't because I was afraid they'd throw me out of the store before I bought my item.
I'm a registered Republican; I'm conservative about most issues; and I normally laugh at conspiracy theorys, but it's hard to imagin that the name Ted Kennedy was mistakenly added to the list.
Not that I support Clinton... But my understanding is that Clinton asked the Judge to define Sexual relations. And the Judge said Sexual relations = intercourse. And Clinton correctly (according to his story) stated that he did not have sexual relations with ML. By the Judge's definition oral sex was not considered sexual relations.
Even in the Oz they're refering to, The Wizard of Oz, according to a friend who read Frank Baum's books the Wicked Witch is green because her mother was raped by a munchkin.
So basically I should give into the f*ckwad and fork over more cash for more bandwidth on a site that -under normal circumstances- doesn't require much bandwidth?

Somewhat offtopic, but how do people deal with DOS attacks? I've had a person harrasing the forums at a website that I host. I banned by IP and then he started using proxys, so I had to write a script to ban his IP each time he logged in, of course then he started creating new accounts; so I had to change the forum registration to one account per unique email address. And then he tried to DOS the site by visiting the site and locking down his F5 key. (He accually confessed this to me in IRC; he had 4 other people do this with him.) I sent Comcast (his isp) the IRC logs & the network monitor logs. They sent me a generic response saying "blah blah blah.. this is an automated response". And thats it. So how do other/.ers deal with situations like this? It's a personal website, and I don't have the funds to hire a lawyer. I've banned his IP and ~6000 proxy IPs, but he still keeps getting through.
Yeah co-op doom2 was awesome. I was really disappointed that they didn't include it in the release, but I understand they designed the game to be single player; mulitiple players would ruin the 'shock' value.
But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone will create a co-op mod.
I guess you don't like CS? Heh... I just remember the good ol' days of Quake mods. Q-Ball, co-op, TF, CTF. Remember the grappling hook? Rocket jumping? I miss the hours upon hours of playing Hunted on the original TF. Quake 2 and 3 were just not the same. And then CS came out. Dying had a consequence! The first mod I'd ever played where you tried to stay alive. No more instant respawn! Honestly though, I just want id to reclaim their place as the gods off FPS. And I think a CS-like mod will achieve that.
Did the post above mine not argue that chess players frown on tic tac toe? Did the first post in this thread have several links to Go websites that devalue chess?
I don't frown on tic tac toe; and I don't know of any chess sites that try to devalue it either. It just seems odd that every Go site that I've visited has something against Chess.
