if linus was born 17 years earlier, i dont think we would have linux as good as it is now.

perhaps we would have better linux. 17 years more development time should make anything at least somewhat "better".

I understand wireless mouses, because it is already a moving tool. I don't see why anyone should carry their keyboards around? A car with a steering wheel that has no handlebar is a very good comparison. Tell me about advantage?

will it be limited to the US?
At first, it might be. Then again, it doesn't have to be the whole globe that should be mapped.. Reducing places without any civilization etc. Microsoft is a worldwide company, right? The idea itself doesn't sound impossible.

If this was email, why didn't the MoD mail servers refuse such large attachments?

I can't help but keep wondering the same matter. In my opinion, emails should be text-only, but that's almost another story. Point is, that it would be so easy to trick a regular computer user e.g. by renaming this_is_a_virus.exe to a try_me.exe, which looks much kinder to me.

    Attachments are biaad.

There could've been more software than these two. At least some that would not require the huge KDE system (which might slow things up itself).
