I think there are ten (10!) years since somebody pointed out to me that there was a method to store dates so they could be sorted by time without any problem.
That is jan 12th 1999 would be written 19990112. If you name your logfiles Daemon.19991015 etc. They will be automaticly sorted by date when you do 'ls -l'. It came with the story that it was called "the Japanese Method of storing dates".

The e-market customers today may be only companies that want to be ready when the e-business takes off big-time.
But the market definately is here, for companie that sell e-commerce solutions.

In his case, the idea seems so simple that surely somebody has thought of it before, even though it hasn't been put into practice before.
Amazon is taking advantage of the fact that they were first do actually implement this idea. And if you think about it, the real problem with software patents is that companies will patent whatever they do, so long as somebody hasn't already done so.
Does anybody realy think that Amazon wouldn't have put this idea into practice if they couldn't have patented it ??
Of cource this is "legal", there is nobody here claiming otherwise, but that in itself is the real problem.

I realy didn't expect to se this question on/. ever. The reason is that this question is of exactly the same type as "how do I hack ?".
And the answer is simple, you have to master the underlying technology, no matter what you are going to reverse engineer/hack.
There is no tool that will do this for you, there is no magic bullet. There are tools of course, to help, but you will have to apply the brainpower yourself.
So, in case of reverse engineering, get yourself a book on assembler and programming. Everybody has his/her motives to learn certain things, and curiosity is a wonderful excuse to learn a new thing.

The "solution" for MS/NSA/Unknown is to move the NSA/Unknown keys to the part of the code that is verified by the MS key.
That way MS/NSA/Unknown still get to use there keys, is will be impossible to remove or change (It will break the integrity test) and No foreign parties will be able to create and distribute Crypto code.

It's only partially true that "Fonts on the linux desktop look so yuck!" Some of the fonts that come with Linux distributions do yes, but I always install a TTF font server that is run automaticly with X. The truth is that there isn't a lot of "free" good looking fonts yet.

I guess we've all seen movies where some guy is blown up by 500 tons of dynamite and still walks away from it.
But the BWP is supposed to be a "true" movie and as such, those kind of things don't happend, we know how kids used to be killed in pairs in that cellar. One standing in the corner, facing the wall, that was the last bit of information the film gave. It was all supposed to fit togeter and we are expected to figure out that the kids will die. But how do we know that ?? The film doesn't explicitly *state* that, now does it ?
The film has absolutely no *details*. whatsoever, the audience can figure out on the way home.
It leaves nothing for the intelectual audience.

The movie already is in urope . Saw it last weekend here in Paris. But the movie realy isn't *that* bad. It's just to long for it's simple story and you will never want to see it again. (apart from some deep-forest-scenes obviously taken behind just a few trees).

Yes I have one just like this,
2 x 366 Celerons @ 550 (Week 30 CPUs). Booting reports 1101 BogoMips.
128 PC100 (-6) Megabytes of RAM.
Diamond Viper V770 32 Megs VideoCard.
Soundblaster Live Soundcard.
Philips 107S, 17" monitor.
Putting this system together was almost too simple and costed about 13-1400$ (9000 French Francs).
If anybody is assembling a new system today, I wouldn't hesitade to reccomend this solutilon, the machine absolutely rocks !
