If that is realy why Ticketmaster went to courts with the case, then I don't understand why Ticketmaster didn't simply use the "Referer" tag in the HTTP request.
In the early days Altavista was just "altavista.digital.com", then someone registered altavista.com, copied the search form from Digital, put his own advertisments on that page and let Digital do all the hard work (i.e. searching).
Digital, having a clue, used the "Referer" tag in the requests to notify the people coming from altavista.com, in big bold friendly letters, that the page they came from was in fact, not associated with Digital. I have seen those on sale here in Paris/France and quite frankly I wasn't impressed!
You only have about 4-6 programmable variables such as "preferable music: 5 options", "prefered activity such as reading books and sports, 5 options", etc...
There is no way you can choose your own options to program into the device.

The reason that France has decidet to bring a civil suit agains UKUSA is simply that the laws here in France seem to protect the individual no-end. F.ex if you wreck your car 10 times in a row and no insurance company wants to touch you with a 10 foot pole, there is a special agency that will *force* the insurance company you choose to insure you. Not quite, what they have done is to create a programmable processor. There is nothing that limits theire ability to add new fuctionality. And, unlike Intel or AMD, Transmeta can just release a upgrade to the 'morphing' software, where AMD or Intel would have to roll out a new line of processors.
It will never run as fast as a native x86 chip would (because it must execute extra instructions). Of course, being smaller and independent to the hardware, these chips may be made significantly faster (clock-wise) than mainstream CISC/RISC chips and comparatively match performance. But not yet

Although this means that the first time you run some partition of the code it will be a bit slower, overall is might actually speed up the overall execution. Ergo: The Crusoe has the potential to actually be *faster* than it's competitors. Remember that they are changing the processors microcode on-the-fly.

Come'on, it seems to me everything went in the best possible way, given the situation.
And since all this was accompliced in the most civilized and police way I propose this method be used more often. So when you want to protest some companies actions, go for there customers. That is where it hurts most. But you have to be polite and with your facts straight. Giving references to news organisations will definately also help.
