A really good friend of mine is also an Apple fanatic. I'm pretty sure that Apple packs some type of neuro-toxin into their boxes, that gives them 100% mind control over their users, because this kid is insanely sick with convincing me that Macintrashes are SOOO much better than "PC's" that I sometimes just hang up on him, or walk away during a conversation. Now I want to know, are ALL mac users like that?
i'm averaging about 12 hours with version 1.06 (compared to about 36 hours with 1.0 or whatever) of the seti GUI client, on a pII-450, not overclocked, running in winblows 98. that's not too horrible, is it?
just reading the comments on this article is like really [mind expanding?]. there are mainly two totally different perspectives on this subject, that are both totally legit, but go contradict each other so much.
#1 being that you believe that the kids should get what they deserve for being stupid #2 being that the server's are stupid for not checking
alot of educated-looking people have posted stuff supporting both of these view points.
what about tattoed into your skin? that would make a wonderful government tracking device for every single person born in the u.s. and they could just tell us its for statistical and identification purposes. go big brother!
i'm online for way more than 4 hours a day, but when i cannot access the internet or something else because of where i am, or software problems, i don't go into withdrawal, i just do something else. heh so i'm a pseudo-addict.
amen to that that. notice how the more destructive people, that take out entire servers which in turn prevents people from sending/receively important emails that could have alot of unknown but possibly serious outcomes (run-on sentence, i know), don't get any punishment, while the people that upload some $20.00+ program, get screwed. script kiddies need to get nailed and prosecuting for preventing us from getting 10.0 k/sec and more web spaces on our isps. i don't know what im talking about anymore, i had some insperation(sp) but it's gone. i'll shut up now.
i'm too lazy to check all the sub-posts on this topic, so this might be already mentioned. anyways, even if they embedded a watermark into an audio file, it still would not matter because the mp3 file format already exists. why would someone go for something that can be traced back to you, costs money, and is probably very restrictive, when they can just get an mp3 encoder and rip some tracks off that?
your postage stamps pay for the cars, airplane's, gas, and disgruntled postal workers that deliver your mail. it's not like it costs nothing to do all that.
even if they do decided to tax e-mail, it's not that terribly hard to just come up with a new protocol. there would be enough cause for change, so everyone wouldn't mind changing to something else. there are too many different ways to communicate online, irc, icq, email, aim (cough), etc. they would have to somehow manage all of them to prevent people from circumventing their almighty, all-knowing, divine, god-like, power.
the staff at slashdot needs to get some more weekend news-adder people because i check this web page every 5-30 min, when i'm online and there is no new content, and i cry for a little and then go back to surfing the web.
IMHO, IANAL I'm a little behind on my abbreviations. What do these mean?

just felt like sharing that
But Canada doesn't exist. The governments of the world just tell us it is "there" so we don't find out about where they moved Area51 to.
This could be the only good thing to ever come out of Canada. Some may say bacon... but what is bacon? PIG! And remember... you are what you eat.
Ok, bye.
what if you wanna paint your wall?
