    How about not giving the university your ssn in the first place? I applied toa few schools and just always skipped the ssn box on the forms. I got accepeted everywhere. Financial aid forms are a totally different thing though.

I mean come on, this guy is asking people to invest and make "very generous return." This whole thing sounds almost too funny be true, but the patent is there. Even more proof that the USPTO is run by a bunch of moronic fools.

    I noticed this last summer. I would take the T up to boston every week and wait around in south station. The guy running the network had quicktime server running and i was able to browse his whole filesystem. I think he was running it off an iMac from the little book stand.

Or howbout that little Johnny can't be out past his bedtime. Why do so many slashdotters here seem to think that the goverment should be mommy or daddy? There is NEVER EVER a goverment excuse for censorship. And for the last freakin' time, the movie ratings system is VOLUNTAIRY!!!

    totally agree. traditionally, conservitives have been for less goverment. But, just look what bush has done in the last 4 years. Goverment size and spending has increased tremendsuly. The new-cons of today are nothing like the old conservitives.

    yes, and in this case, apple is trying to use a law that clearly violates the constituion. this certainly does involve the first amendment. apple can not use the system of goverment, in this case, the courts, to silence somebody. they could silence someone all they want as long as they do not use the powers of the goverment to do so.

    first of all moron, why the hell were you trying to use token ring and ext2 in the first place? second, it's General Public License. Third, I don't know what your overpaid laywers were smoking, but programs compiled with GCC defintly DO NOT have to be licensed under the gpl.

    overall i've had fairly good services. i run my web server on 8080 and everything else (ssh, vnc, and other stuff) works fine. lately i have been getting some really bad latency. ping times of over a second. resetting the cable modem usually solves it though.

    i have cox in ri too and they actually just raised the download to 4mbits, which i notice in my downloads. for a while, port 25 was unblocked and i was running a mail server. when i relised that i hadn't been recieving mail for a few weeks, i discovered they blocked it again.

    Not to long ago, i decided to cleam up my apple ][+ and get rid of all the durst and junk. i took at the circuit board and complitly submerged it in water and washed off all the dirt and dust. Let it sit in the sun for a little bit, popped it back in and it was good to go.

    those figures of around 80 degess C seem incrediable. My overclocked 2.2 ghz athlon xp idles at 32 degrees C and peaks at around 40! What i think would be a better comparison here is the gigaflops to watts ratio. I woudlnt be suprised if the G5 didnt do so well.

    P.S.: I'm not saying the g5 is bad. In fact, I think it kicks ass. I would just be personally worried if my proccessor ever got that hot.

    I totally agree. just want to add one thing: a crucial aspect of copyright is that it has to expire. part of the "deal" of copyright is that the creator's work will eventually get into the public domain where it benefits all of society. the fact that a copyrighted work eventually enters the public domain illustrates that information is not "owned" or "property," hence the term "intelectual property" is a loaded false term.
