I"m guessing they consider the photographer to be the publisher since he published the photo on instagram under the terms that allowed the image to be sold for commercial use.
I swear I saw this on NCIS or CSI at least 5 years ago. It was a plot twist that they used the technique to find out that the video recording was a fake. Sure the writers may have pulled it out of their ass at the time but it seemed plausible then.
I never heard of this "International Treaty on Torture Fucking Contard", and from what I can tell we only interrogated "Fucking Contards". I see where you could be upset and will do my best to get the US to start torturing these Fucking Contards ASAP.
If I were Apple, I would push out a patch today that scraps Apple Maps and replaces it with Google.
Why should they do that? My experienced has been that Apple Maps app works better than the Google one. I'm lucky that all my street data is accurate for my region, and the complaints (which seem over sensationalized) concerns data accuracy and not the application itself.
Maybe. All I saw was a video of her being tasered and not the events leading up to it. She refused arrest and the cops contend that they followed procedure. I see nothing to doubt their version of the story. As for her only speaking Chinese and not understanding their instructions, I can see that being a possibility but I am very doubtful.
Of course I'm jaded from past experience. I used to work as a marine transportation operations representative and had to be the intermediary between immigrations and the crew (I would represent the vessel owners/charterers). Many times, I have experienced bilingual people feign not knowing english as a form of passive aggression or in their eyes gain some tactical advantage in the situation (Despite speaking perfect english just moments before). Unfortunately for them they didn't get their crew VISA and spent the weekend detained on the cargo ship.
Are the cursor coordinates available to IE while the screen is locked and you use mouse gestures to unlock it? Does this work with touch coordinates too? How does this affect the unlock feature of Windows 8 that I see demonstrated multiple times in commercials?
I had issues with the linux kernel and had to wait for patches in order to get the Vortex86 to work correctly (early adopter syndrome). I can't say anything about the speed since they replaced a lower power SBC and they were IO bound. Also I haven't messed with them in a while and it probably isn't comparable to the new revisions available today.
Yet two more reasons not to break the market. HFT is in addition to other traders so it is an increase in the number of traders (and of course, trades). Similarly, market manipulation is a lot chancier in a realm where someone can respond to your manipulation attempt (and profit thereby) in microseconds rather than much longer periods of time.
Here's the rub. I do not believe the HFT is necessarily a good thing or should even be allowed to exist. Call me old fashion...
Most definitely. The only exception that comes to mind is when you have a sensor board whose manufacturer only supports 2.6 kernel. I ran into this issue a couple of years ago when I need to replace a device and I couldn't make a direct replacement. Luckily those days should be over... for now.
The latter. When I say 486+, I meant the non-Intel low power varieties like the Vortex86. I haven't seen an SBC in a while that featured a genuine 486.
No big deal. I'll just keep the i386 CPUs at the current kernel version anyway. It's not like it needs to be bleeding edge anyway. My new embedded CPU boards are 486+/PowerPC/ARM anyway, so this is just a minor inconvenience.
I might be a bit facetious here, but I see no reason to help out slower traders. The market exists to trade things, not to play favorites. Those low latency traders have to work hard to gain their modest market advantage. And that is as it should be.
Except your statement is self contradictory. What you propose favors those with the lowest latencies while kasperd's proposition actually levels the playing field. The more participants the better the trade, otherwise the market devolves into an exchange between powerhouses that can manipulate the market derived value of the goods.
How long do you think this takes?

Sadly the people who are against gun control are the same people who are against funding health care. They want to have their cake and shoot it too.
Yes because it's unfair to the gun lobby. How are they suppose to pretend that gun violence isn't a problem during times like this.
Close the "gun show loophole" and then we'll take the "It makes it harder for fucking normal people" line seriously...
1080p still follow the 25 or 30 fps conventions. You've seem to have confused frame rate with monitor refresh rate.
Clarification: That was 50i for PAL and 60i for NSTC. Because of the interlace the FPS was actually 25fps and 30fps respectively.

Why build that thing when I got all of these ready made devices that do Netflix?
Meh.. that's not a serious option.

Which is pretty much my point.

Don't get pissed.
Darwin is in the Northern Territory. This story is from Victoria.
Which is why people stress the importance of an education. Learn from the wheelwrights and blacksmith -- the labor market evolves.
