Unfortunately Valve say there are no plans for a Linux version of Steam.
But Steam runs in Wine and so do a surprising number of Steam games;
Yes, "run" as in "it's a PITA do get them even startup in the first place and then there are still issues with sound, rendering glitches/errors, frequent crashes and performance".
Yeah, I know. One of the reasons I submitted this was, that maybe someone more into this project would care to comment. Turns out that there are already some blogposts (posted by some karma whores below;)) I missed. Maybe there's a way to get these as an update into my submission, CmdrTaco?
Just as there are secular christians, there are secular muslims which are less superstitious as more religious/radical ones. I think it's a bad strategy to not differentiate between these groups if you're against superstition. Because AFAIK (IANA{P,S}) groups that are under attack/pressure tend to radicalize themselfs. By attacking the quran/bible one attacks all muslims/christians.
... so I hope that Rackspace would be fair-minded and shut down any site that publishes the Qu'ran. For example, see Wikipedia
Interesting Wikipedia article:
"The Quran is engaged mainly in dealing with the sinners among the Jews and the attack on them is shaped according to models that one encounters in the New Testament."
It is funny how the ISP's and Hosting companies want all that common carrier protection right up until they do something like this, and then don't want to play the neutral party obligation that goes along with being a common carrier.
A hosting service is not carrying information like an ISP or a telephone company, but, as the name suggests, hosts content. That's quite different.
My first thought was "Maildir". AFAIK there are IMAP servers with a maildir backend. So, yeah, someone should get an IMAP server with Maildir backend for this job.
OTOH, Dual monitor support is neither here nor there. There's probably loads of much more relevant stuff to focus on.
As much as certain people like to whine about this, it's obscure and geeky. Most people don't even know it's possible.
Even clerks are getting dual screen setups nowadays. They are certainly not obscure or geeky anymore.
Regarding your sig: Nope. The SI is meant to be practical for physics and everyday usage for measuring properties of the physical world. Use KiB from the apropriate IEC standard already and stop confusing others.
That's exactly the problem right there. Thinking that editing a gconf value or changing a desktop theme is as simple as turning a paper upside down to the average Joe PC user. That's so wrong on so many levels. For starters: characters on a paper are characters on a paper regardless of who printed these characters onto that paper. Changing a desktop theme? It's different in KDE from how its done in Gnome or Windows or Mac OS etc.pp.
How do they work? Well... they're insanely massive. And they're really tiny. As to what goes on inside them... we've no clue. We can't use Quantum Theory because it's too massive, and we can't use regular physics, because it's too small.
How do you know they are tiny? Sure, GRT predicts a singularity. But has anyone ever actually measured the size of a black hole's mass distribution beyond the event horizon?
Why should anyone do that? Paying extra for better hardware, larger electricity bill and a Windows emulator that actually doesn't(?) suck.
You can get direct hardware access through Direct3D. I wonder how that is or would be implemented in Wine (I don't think it can be).

Steampunk? :)
Summer Glau? AFAIK that's a character from Firefly. Never liked that "Cowboys in Space" concept.
Wrong.
It's just 30 pixels
Common screen resolution on netbooks: 1024x600
3 fps on FF 4.0b5 on an Atom N450

Both are a small subset which you try to offend by offending their large supersets. Talk about collateral damage.
May i introduce you to a new word today: respect.

Frankly, while I find the idea of burning any book abhorrent I think that spitting in the face of these radicals of Islam is more important than not.
Burning qurans to upset islamists is like burning bibles to upset the WBC.
tl;dr

Looks fuzzy.
More like this.

Non-LTS releases have only a 18 month support cycle and you seriously suggest waiting 12 month of that time before deciding if you should switch?

Silicon-based lifeforms 5x denser than carbon-based.
It's just a flesh wound!
Already cauterized.
