    It's well known she was bought and paid for, she came from the private sector. This isn't surprising. What's surprising is I didn't know she was a guy - it takes some serious big balls to make that statement.

    Your argument is based on the assumption that the military can't get replacement parts. I would not rest my argument on that. There's a little thing known as a defense contractors. You know companies that will build anything to spec. Did you know that the F-15 was introduced in 1976 and is still in use today! The point being that age does not determine a thing's usefulness.

    FYI the USS Yorktown had be towed back to port when Windows crashed. So no Windows on naval vessels, let alone running missile silos, is not a good thing. Pinhead.

    Exactly what do you think is going to replace fossil fuels that is not going to be available in the US? Seriously, I'm all for replacing fossil fuels with cleaner sources of energy but there is NOTHING out there presently or in the reasonably likely future that is likely to do more than dent the use of fossil fuels for at least the next 30-40 years.

    Which wasn't the point of the article. The point was the Koch brothers and conservative allies in state government have been pushing legislatures to impose a surtax on renewable energies. For example a surtax on solar panels, hoping to make installing solar panels on houses less attractive. That's the issue.

    Try to stay on topic.

    I don't think saying "More people fail to get English degrees, so it takes more critical thinking skills to get one!" or some such, is valid. Although, most programmers and CS grads have no clue what they're doing, so it's not like I hold these people in high esteem.

    However, that's what the Google guy was saying about an English degree.

    Thank you! No one wants to look at the actual problem - inactivity. You need to move around. But the problem is you will cut into productivity because that means people need to be away from their desks. This is nothing more than an attempt at a silver bullet. It won't fix the problem but it will give the appearance that they're doing something.

    Yes you are very dumb. The point is that it's unreasonable to believe that people who have spent their lifetime working in a particular field are going to suddenly become computer programmers. The solution to unemployment is not teaching someone to code. By the way these are the same companies that want more H1B Visas so they can import more foreign workers. So much for teaching to code only to not offer them a job because some guy from India is doing it.

    This is based on what exactly? Hate to break it too you but those "intelligent" jobs, aka tech jobs, are going overseas or people from India and China are being brought here to perform. So what exactly do you tell the above-median intelligent person who has a cs degree or a computer engineering degree to do? Go back and get another degree?
    FYI building trades are consider manual or blue collar jobs. Those are not going away.
