Anyway, to add some on-topic* stuff here, I would have to agree with one of the earlier posters, once a model is made and followed, the market would change and the model would no longer fit. Maybe someone could find a model that if followed, would cause the market to change in a positive way. Who knows anyway. Besides what would a positive change in the market be? It's all subjective. *I've had posts before that were 8 levels deep in a series of insignificant posts that most people wouldn't read moderated off topic. Also, the original person could have modified it. What about making a website with some cgi on it, that you pass a website address to, and it checks to see if it's a .gov or .mil site, and if it is, appends the file with that file encrypted with that website's private key. Then gives the person a copy of that file. It keeps the original person anonymous, it allows for verification of accuracy, and, the website most likely can't be taken down for just making it easy to verify government documents.

Also, let's say HP knew M$ had patents that they could attack OSS on. If HP knew, M$ also knew. If M$ knew, and has waited 2 years before enforcing them, they've essentially given them up. You must make a reasonable attempt to enforce your IP, which means stopping it early, and not letting it go on, as opposed to just letting the damage build up. As they haven't enforced this IP, which they probably knew about, they can't enforce it now.
