My two boys have watched Signing Time, a series of Sign-Language videos for children, since they were six months old. They pick it up faster than you'd think, and the benefit is enormous. Having your eight month old crawl up to you and sign "Sleep" when they're ready for bed, or "Milk" when they're hungry is incredibly useful.
Find me one single dollar that Jack Abrahmoff contributed to a Democrat.
While you're at it, you can take a look at the actual numbers, and see that the contributions from the Indian tribes that worked with Abrahmoff to Democrats actually went down once Jack started working with them.
The problem here isn't the commenters. It's people like Howell, and people like yourself, who watch Headline News for thirty seconds and then assume to understand the situation.
While your loose grasp of the facts can be excused, the fact that the Ombudsman for one of the nations largest news providers did no actual research into the issue is a little scary. The fact that they are now quashing dissent on the issue, and that she has now decided not to respond to critics, is downright frightening. She is an Ombudsman... responding to critics is her job.
They should put out a sign in front of the store -- "under no circumstances are you to look at any video surveillance camera in the store or you will be arrested immediately".
Agreed. If they can use 9/11 as an excuse to arrest people who use $2 bills, and "Homeland Security" to take away handicapped parking spaces, using the Terror boogeyman to take away your rights to monitor your own government should be a piece of cake.
It speaks more to the idea of supplying your own surveillence. If the cops in New York had videotaped the protests themselves, do you really think they would have presented them to the public? There is no way in hell they would supply their 'opposition' (i.e. innocent citizens that they are paid to protect) with evidence of their own wrongdoing. Only by 'watching the watchers' were the protesters able to reveal the blatant lies of the NYPD.
We don't need new systems! There's nothing wrong with the ones we have already!
Is someone holding a gun to your head, forcing you to buy the latest and greatest? Why keep coming out with new cars models? There's nothing wrong with the ones we have already, right?
I spent around $200 for each of my consoles, I want some more god damn milage with them!
I paid quite a bit more than that for my car, and I'll buy something newer when I feel like it. Quit acting like a putz.
"While the FBI has had a lot of false positives, it hasn't had many false negatives."
In other words: they may have arrested a lot of innocent people, they didn't allow any terrorist attacks (after that first one).
"Compare that to the last AG, Janet Reno"
Ok: We didn't arrest nearly as many innocent people, but still didn't allow any terrorist attacks (after that first one).
Call me crazy, but I'll take the government that arrests less innocent people.
He was "screwing with us", as you say, and "the ball was in his court". This obviously means that we should commit our armed forces to several years of violent occupation, lead hundreds of our troops (and thousands of civilians) to their deaths, and leave ourselves unable to respond in force to any other threats. Of course, it turns out that there really wasn't much of a threat, and now terrorism is on the rise and american deaths are climbing.
I'm in the same situation here. Same location, same job, even the exact same pay rate. The only difference I can see is that I'm making some secondary income from freelance work.
I had a distant contact (old friend's college roomate's mother) with a consulting company that needed an emergency nerd. I've been working with them now for about two years, and I can count on at least an extra $500/month from them. Not much, but it counts.
If you're not having any luck, I would suggest setting up a second income for yourself as a freelancer. If you have a portfolio use it. If not, make one up. Keep an eye out for contract positions, and apply like crazy. If you can provide a different voice, you'll have opportunities.
Finally, whatever you do, stay the hell away from Craig's List. I don't need any more competit- uhh.. I mean, they suck. Yeah.
This is absolutely true.

I like useless commentses
Private corporations expanding their development != 'public use'
"...The RIAA referred all of the Drexel cases to the Settlement Support Center, a group of lawyers who specialize in settling."
"...recieved calls from the "RIAA Settlement Support Center". A disgusting attempt at making themselves sound like the nice-guys they are known to not be."

Was it worth it?
