I think they would be amazed at the fact that now through an electronic network millions of people can read the extremely lame, boring, and out-of-touch ramblings of some idiot who writes an article on a topic that could be interesting, but somehow manages to make it pointless and boring.
Seriously . . . I can think of a million things that people from the 20s would find amazing, interesting, or weird in today's society . . . yet Dvorak managed to write a completely boring and poorly written article. Did anyone else feel like they wasted 5 minutes of their time reading that crap?
CAPTCHA (Completely Automated Public Turing Test to Tell Computers and Humans Apart) are commonly used to prevent computers from filling out web forms.
In Soviet Russia, CAPTCHA used to prevent web froms from filling out computers!
The only thing that is unfair about this is how companies like BellSouth are allowed to actually slow down processes that are helping people just so they can try to get a piece of the pie.
I am sick and tired of companies trying to put their own profits before the greater good of society.
Linux. Linux is an operating system, it is an implementation of the Unix kernel originally written from scratch with no proprietary code by Linus Torvald (Howe).
I believe the source of this information, "Howe," is confusing the singular form of Linux's creator with his more common plural form, Linus Torvalds:-p
I think that this is somehow related to the huge flop of a game that Fable was. BC was almost as overly hyped in its early stages as Fable was, and Peter promised impossible things for both games. Maybe they decided its better not to continue making a game that won't live up to expectations just to save face?
Personally I'd rather just see Peter Molyneaux shut his fat mouth about these games instead of overhyping them only to have them released to IMPOSSIBLY high expectations, just as Fable was.
Activision . . . new consumer electronics . . . this seems like CES all over again . . . wait! What's that? Men covered in blue bodypaint with techno music? OMG I'm so totally there!:-)
What is this country coming to!??? Literally, today it's a pen on the stage, tomorrow we are going to here about Mr. Kerry ripping the tag off his mattress! This maddness must be stopped, Vote Republican 2004, they may not follow antitrust and anti-monopoly laws, but at least they can pay attention to technicalities!
Wait a second . . . since when did anyone care about the debate rules anyway? I mean we all know they are totally set up by a bipartisan commission seeking to make both of their guys look good and robbing us all of a fair real debate. So who gives a crap? Honestly, cuz I don't.
And on a second note, the Drudge Report has always been a republican, or at the very least conservatively-biased, report. Matthew Drudge is always looking to bash anyone who isn't republican and always trying to impress his buddy Bill O'Reilly.
He had to apologize because of all the thing he said about the game that weren't true.
I followed this game for about three years, all along the way excited after Mr. Molyneux would say things like "If you drop an acorn in the beginning of the game, by the end it will grow to a great oak tree." and tons of other over-hyped things like that. I was nearly the number one Fable fan out there on Big Blue Box's (the developer's) message board, but after getting the game, playng it for 8 hours, beating it, starting a new character, playing it 4 more hours, and finding it has little to no replay value, I feel downright screwed. And the first person I thought of to be pissed at about the game sucking was Molyneux. So that is why he had to apologize, and he should apologize a few more times too.
After reading this post, I went on the Google to check for some reasons on why to get a CS PhD. I came across a really nice article you might like called A Graduate School Survival Guide.
It's by a guy who got his doctorate and he discusses reasons to do so or not to do so. Hope it helps!
I'm surprised the rover even lasted this long at all as its life span was only planned to be 90 days.
On another note, I read that another issue that would be happening with the rovers would be dust building up on the solar panels, blocking sunlight (maybe dust jammed the wheels as well?). Anyway, I always wondered why NASA didn't foresee these types of issues and BUILD IN workarounds, like little wipers for the solar panels!?
The House proposal, known as the "Spy Act," adds civil penalties over what has emerged as an extraordinary frustration for Internet users, whose infected computers often turn sluggish and perform unexpectedly
Nice, but when are they gonna do the same thing for straight up ad-ware? Ad-ware has many virus like qualities and totally screw up your windows box, but if it isn't spyware then this bill won't touch it from what I can tell.
Barton acknowledged that experts had recently found more than 60 varieties of spyware installed on the panel's own computers. He said all the spyware programs had been installed without the permission of computer users.
Wow, I'm glad to see my tax money going to good use . . . funding an "expert" to figure out that spyware had been installed without permission! My tax dollars doing EXCELLENT work there! Hip Hip Hooray for government idiocy!
It's good to see more and more people with an increased focus on security and related issues online.
SecurityFocus.org is always a good site, but having smaller more independant outlets are great, and blogs seem like a great place to get smaller stories across that pass under the radar or larger groups. What do you guys think?
I've never heard of this company or project, and Firefox is being sluggish in getting the plugin for the site, but a platform like this could really be useful to the FOSS community.
Was your script written prior to their patent and/or the art to which their patent refers to?
otherwise it's prior art baby!

Exactly! When I first saw that commercial with the eagle and saw them as a blatant lobby for the coal industry I though . . . "Why are they called Americans for Balanced Energy Choices." I mean obviously they are for Coal and only Coal . . . why hide behind the mask?
Even their whole concept is misleading. In the commerical they state that "by the year 2020" (or sometime around then, I don't remember the exact year but it was like 10-15 years off), coal will be 75% cleaner than it has been. So for now it's still at least less than 75% cleaner than it was . . . and how do we know that this "coal clean-up" will actually go as they say it will? Sounds sketchy at best.

Step 1) Take your laptop off your lap.
If Step 1 cannot be completed because it is melted to your legs, the temperature is too high.

Just my two cents.
