Not that I know off - I did not "just create an account" to reply here; omfg. I don't give a shit what you do or don't think of me; I could care less, but I don't want to try, too much effort.

so somebody who visits any of those user content created websites daily, but doesn't post much content is considered a newbie? Quality over Quantity is the question here, and of the 38 comments I made, how many have been marked as Quality?

It's quite "newbie"-like to measure somebodies experience on the amount of posts he/she has on a website. Slashdot is not so much a user generated content site, as most the articles linked to are NOT at the site here; are most of the time NOT created by the people visiting Slashdot. It's not the same.

If Slashdot existed 99% of own book/game/hardware/etc reviews, then you would be correct, but it is not. so there is no direct comparison. And the to further mark the difference, the content here is moderated heavily, only allowing a small selection of articles to be posted from the 1000 submitted each day. How does this compare to Youtube/.. where each member can post content without too much restriction? :)
I also feel better sitting in front of a PC, visiting (or building) websites, instead of playing the coach potatoe.

Does user generated content like seen on the sites mentioned equal quality reading? is it worth hours of browsing other people's randomly submitted content to find a few diamonds? how often do you find yourself spending time on those sites?

YOu don't need FX-57 or 7900GTX to play the latest games; if he choices mid-range products they will produce less heat, and can be cooled easily without extra noise. CPU cooler choice is outdated model, CNPS7700 is old, CNPS9500/9700 is better choice, and there are tons of alternatives which offer even better performance/noise ratios like Scythe Ninja to name one. The choice of case is "okay", Antec's own P150 would be much more suited though. at $2000 this silent system is hardly budget friendly; too many expensive parts. My route to silence was posted on /. last year: http://www.madshrimps.be/gotoartik.php?articID=286

Wake-up call; NEW games are ALL VIDEO CARD dependant, CPU speed hardly matters; A 2GHZ Athlon 64 or 3ghz Pentium 4 will let you play the latest games at highest details if you have a powerful videocard. I found no difference between 2.4Ghz and 2.7ghz A64 in game-speed, the video card is the limiting factor, the CPU is plenty fast

Compared to previous stock cooling offerings from Intel/AMD this heatsink packs enough punch to have it's fan not run full speed to keep to CPU cool enough. The fan will only go towards 5200rpm when you are hitting 70+C and that's not something which will happen in a second, even when gaming. So while it's certainly not an "extremely" silent solution, for being a freeby with a retail CPU it's pretty darn impressve ;-)

the dBA meter used is not a $2000 model; but rather a $200 model. It lowest readout is 30dBA, in the test room with all PCs turned off it measures 30dBA.

final measurement of 31dBA could not be heard; so basically at 60cm I could not hear the difference between PC on/off.

if you look up noise levels and rating, you'll see at 30dBA is VERY low, and that 30dBA can only be accurately measured in a sound studio with high end equipment:)
