  1. Or... on No $50 iPod Clone From Microsoft · · Score: 1

Who wants a $50 'Billy' or 'Ballmer' clone. Own them, before they OWN YOU!

  2. As I understand it... on There Are Infinitely Many Prime Twins · · Score: 1

If we can assume that there is an infinite range of real numbers, then any uniform operation on these numbers would yield a potentially infinite number of results. ie: infinite real numbers, but only so many of these are Primes. Any fraction of the infinite, is still the infinite. So, we have infinite Primes. If only some of these are Prime Twins, then still, any fraction of the infinite is still the infinite. Thus infinite Prime Twins.

  3. Hey, wait a minute... on FSF Subpoenaed by SCO · · Score: 1

Last I checked, the burden of proof was with the accuser. If SCO doesn't already have sufficient evidence of a violation of their intellectual property, then they shouldn't be allowed to subpeona anyone. If they do have sufficient evidence, then this shouldn't be necessary. Someone's stalling. The question is: Why?

  4. It's all about the Pentiums baby... on Intel Releases New Pentium M Processors · · Score: 1, Funny

  5. Better days ahead on Digital Cameras Change War Photo-Journalism · · Score: 1

Now maybe if we're all totally inundated with these newly freed streams of images about all that's horrid and evil in times of war, we'll suddenly wake up and see what an incredible waste of human potential it is, destroy all the guns & bombs & other crap and start treating each other with a little respect. Nah. We'll become desensitized to this too and pretty soon we won't bother to look anymore. We suck. I'm packing for the first flight to Mars. Bye now.

  6. Great!! What if you miss? on Anti-Missile Laser Weapon Successfully Tested · · Score: 3, Insightful

Not so much for a ground based laser, it just keeps going and picks off Hubble, or the ISS or (God No!) Fox. But mounted to an aircraft, if it either misses or punches right through the target object, anything within range before the beam hits it's dispersion threshhold could be toast. Homes, office buildings, people spontaneously combusting, yada yada... You get the idea. The tinfoil hat just don't cut it anymore I guess. Eep. jm2c
