If I walk up to a reporter and say "I did crime X" and they report it in their newspaper, are the police able to force the reporter to give them details about me (and if they don't get thrown in jail for something along the lines of "contempt for the court" or "conspiracy to cover up a crime")? If yes, then indymedia doesn't deserve special protection. If not, then this is wrong and indymedia is being targetted because it's unable to protect it's rights.
This has to do with AUSTRALIA. Now I know America and Australia sound the same (they both start and end in the letter "a"), but they're two different countries. Australian music labels are taking these two to court, not the RIAA. To bring up the RIAA, claiming they're influencing elected officials (and it's right to assume you mean Australian officials as this story is about Australia), is off-topic. Wait an hour for when an RIAA article is posted, then you can rant about them all you like.
Because for most people, Windows XP is what they're use to. They've used it at work and/or school, so to migrate to OpenBSD would present a fairly big learning curve.
I can see my grandmother in one of the pictures unfortunately they took the picture as she was flying out of the windscreen during the car crash:( So everytime I see that part of the map, I get to relive the death of my grandmother.
Nudist sun-bathing on the roof of the Houses and Google's children safe policy forced them to white-out certain areas. This is why it isn't possible to see the White House. All those naughty politicians...
Maybe its just me. But it looks like FireFox with some Longhorn UI added.:P
I don't know you added the smiley, this is 100% correct. And from what I saw, the Longhorn UI sucks. Big time. Those screenshots, are NOT the best thing to use when judging the UI, so I will reserve judgement. But from what I saw, there were less buttons out of the box (which is terrific. Well done Microsoft. You're learning). But a lot of wasted space (then again, I've customised my Firefox UI as I thought Firefox had too much wasted space;)). I also notice an X to close part of the UI, so it's looking like Microsoft will have the UI be fairly customisable.
I will say this for Microsoft. When they steal features, they steal the good ones.
An online only credit card of course? I'm thinking Google might actually be offering to hide your credit card for you. Like the paypal system, except no money will reside in Google's control. You give them your credit card and bank number and they debit and credit you money without being in their control.
The advantage to this is that you don't have to give your credit card number out to anyone, and them having your Gaypal id won't let them do anything (except to try to guess your password or give you money).
I personally would prefer a competitor to Paypal, as from what I've heard Paypal isn't the best company to work with. That way I only have to transfer money once or twice (and don't get hit with a fee for every $0.50 purchase I make) a month.
Cab: Where do you want to go? Passenger: Regent Street Cab: You sure you really want to go there? I hear they've got some hotels on that street. Passenger: Yeah I'm sure. Cab: Alright.....10 minutes later a police-man pulls them over....
Cab: What's the problem officer? Policeman: This one of them monopoly cabs? Cab: Yup. Policeman: Can you and your passenger get out of the vehicle, this street has been designated the go to jail street. Cab: Aaah shit. Passenger: Don't worry, I've got a get out of jail free card.
Yeah, go on. Mod me -1. I've got Karma to burn, and if you're so easily offended, perhaps you should turn your computer off. This is a humorous post to demonstrate that words change over time and the OP should learn to deal with it or move to France (where they have a department to try to keep the language pure).
You don't need to live in a perfect world to do without locks. You do need to live in a community with a strong sense of cohesion and a definite perimeter (not the same as a fence).
Nice. Can you now demonstrate how this is on topic in regards to computers and the internet?
Heh, reminds me of a commercial. Guy is playing golf and continues to smash windows instead of in the hole. And his friend says "better luck next time." The bad golfer then goes into his company car, which is for a window repairshop.
What's the point to this post? No point. I like the commercial. Oh, and if it wasn't for hackers, companies would have to develop their own virii to scare people with.
Most software isn't spouted off as the best thing since sliced bread when it's at this stage. Then again, this IS Microsoft we're talking about (not a dig at Microsoft's coding abilities, but they're PR department).
I definitely remember the Sega Master System and Mega Drive would get hot, and IIRC bugs would start to occur in the game when it did. Not to hard to put two and two together.
This just in, Clean, renewable energy discovered. And unless it's so overpowered it should be illegal, it will probably be able to power your home console (if, y'know. You can be bothered to set it up).
And most people won't offer to have their console used for Seti or folding or whatever. Something that's needed more then horsepower, is the willingness to bother with it. And that will stop too many of these things from being overly popular.
I'd do this as well. If, y'know. My local bookstore^H^H^H if I had a local bookstore (I don't call 30mins away local, I call the local supermarket local), that had the same range of books as Amazon.

Only if a politician puts it up for vote. Yeah right, as if that'll happen.

Are you able to see the whitehouse unblurred? Or, like google, is NASA also being a company shill?
Aaah, to be able to live in the land of the free, where taking pictures of your building where your government does business is not allowed.
You can tell the picture of NYC was taken this millenium
Actually, that's the smog.

Thanks a lot google.

Actually they're already competing with ebay.
A specific site seems superfluous.
Oh, and plenty of people use paypal without using ebay. So the whole "ebay" thing is pretty much a non-issue.
It's actually more fun for the passengers.
....10 minutes later a police-man pulls them over....

Why do you think there was so much friendly fire in Iraq? Fucking campers.
If no-one was testing the systems then who would care if they're riddled with holes?

Anything that doesn't happen in America takes forever for the American news to pick up (if it does pick it up at all). It's expected.
I definitely remember the Sega Master System and Mega Drive would get hot, and IIRC bugs would start to occur in the game when it did. Not to hard to put two and two together.
until we have clean renewable energy anyway

Perhaps in America you can get anything you want at a bookstore, but here in Australia there are plenty of American authors that I'm unable to get locally.
