    Interesting, GoW2 and UT3 are the turning point for you? Wasn't UT 2003 botched because it was based on a console game? Wasn't GoW1 already designed primarily for consoles?

    WH40k's aesthetic was designed to be identifiable in the form of small tabletop figures, the exaggerated proportions remain very visible even from a distance but I'm not sure it's very fitting for a game where you see people up close.

    What I hate about GoW is that it's not released in Germany. I'm playing The Scourge Project now, it's very clunky (there's fun to be had but I'd suggest holding off until they patch some of the annoyances out of the game, maybe if you play 4 player coop all the way through it'd be good already but if you involve bots there's often trouble) but at least I can get it without importing.

    This is played on PCs provided by the tournament host and with your screen contents broadcasted to an audience so actual ingame cheating would be very hard. Conspiring to rig games only requires the human element to be compromised.

    I believe it's a requirement of the DVD license that you need to use the patents and trademarks involved.

    WalMart uses razor thin margins, globalized distribution systems and cutthroat pricing to displace retailers that would otherwise pay better.

    Funnily when WalMart went to Germany they were sent back home with their tails between their legs.

    Knowledge is important for any sort of market correction to work, people cannot properly vote with their wallet if they only find out that the choice was bad for them after they've already spent the money or even never. E.g. food toxicity is not something your average Joe can judge but he's sure as hell affected by it, that's why the law lets experts judge that and ban products that are toxic.

    The age of consent isn't necessarily the age at which they can be legally depicted in porn. Germany has an age of consent of 14 (with parental approval) but nobody below 18 is allowed in porn.

    Isn't Kevlar more for shrapnel than bullets? I believe AP rounds are usually meant for anti-vehicle use so they would be more than capable of penetrating the one centimeter or so of metal you can feasibly wear.

    Is there a stack of explicit sexual images of cartoon characters depicted as under 18?

    Outside of fan art (rule 34) AFAIK no, all Japanese hentai artists go to great lengths to state that all characters are at least 18 years old and if the artist says that character is an adult who are you to object? Maybe he's just bad at drawing and didn't manage to make those characters look their age?

    Even more hilarious that around the same time Media Markt instituted the rule that everybody must show ID for age verification, no matter how old they appear. So we can trust people's judgment on pictures enough to determine guilt but not in real life?

    Even more, you can ask Christians from other nations and they won't object to basic things like the big bang theory or the theory of evolution because the whole creation story in the bible is just a metaphor. Even if you believe that God himself dictated that, would he really be telling a bunch of slightly-past-cave-dwellers about subatomic particles and DNA?

    They can believe what they want in private but starting any campaigns to get schools to teach creationism in science lessons is over the line. Religious stuff should remain restricted to the religion lessons, science is for science and any preaching of religion there would be a violation of the establishment clause.

    I still have a hard time truly imagining what the point of an FPSRTS would be. What should the thoughts of the player be? Why would he fight himself instead of letting automatically controlled units do it (since it costs him the ability to control other parts of the battlefield as his attention is tied up)? How much would an FPSRTS differ from a team FPS from the perspective of a player?

    You cannot succeed if you do not try. Many physical games have evolved in many steps over the centuries, nobody told those people "you want to play football play the classic rules, don't try to invent new rules like having to kick the ball!"
