If Bush outright suspended the next election, I'm convinced that at least 40% of Americans would support him.

    Dear Sir,

I find your ideas intriguing and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

    WE ARE AT WAR!!!

    Against who, exactly?

Well, it's supposed to be a 'War on Terror'. But given the variations in pronunciation that Bush is capable of (e.g., nucular), I suspect it's actually a 'War on Terra'. Sadly, the latter interpretation is more believable.

So will I. Actually, I'll buy four. As a father of four kids of different age ranges, this sounds ideal. Fast enough to surf and IM (which is what my kids do mostly anyway) and cheap enough that I can get four at the price of one mid range Dell or custom built machine. And it runs linux so there are fewer security issues to deal with.

Barrett is missing a huge secondary audience. Third world kids can use them. And American middle class parents can get a cheap laptop for each of their kids. Sign me up.

If stupid legislation gets passed, we really only have a small group of people to blame.

No, we have a large group of people to blame - Ourselves.

For allowing this sham of a democracy to continue. For allowing legislation to be awarded to the highest bidder. For not being able to see past the imaginary line that is democrat and republican to see that the only line that really exists and really matters to these people we've elected into office is the bottom line. For tolerating the status quo for as long as we have, we are all partly responsible.

  8. Re:Someone inform me? on Water Flowed Recently on Mars · · Score: 1

The atmosphere of Mars would be much thinner than anything experienced at the highest peaks on Earth. Not only that but the atmospheric composition is much different. The reason water would boil in the Martian atmosphere is because the lower the atmospheric pressure, the lower the boiling point. If you were to go to the top of Everest and heat up a quart of water, you'd find that it boils at a lower temperature than if you were at sea level.
