    If Hyper-V is the only thing running on Windows, just so you can run Linux, why would you run Windows in the first place? Just run XEN, KVM or even VirtualBox on Linux and have several Linux sessions run on that.

    Not only developers, but many others as well. Many people who work with scanned documents are better of with a second monitor as well. Or in general if you are working on one thing while looking at something else. Most of the time it won't fit on a single screen, unless it is a HUGE screen.

    Screen real estate is important for many people, not just IT people. As always it will depend from job to job and person to person.

    The beginning? This is not even the end. The moment Bin Laden was killed, it was told that retaliations were to be expected and things will get worse.

    Remember: this is not about fighting some enemy, this is about controlling you. If this "enemy" is gone, another will be invented.

    Once communism was the worst that could happen. The war on that was won and did it bring peace? Not, just the next "enemy".

    Improve the world and start in your own backyard.
    Start with privacy and implement it as it is INTENDED. I am also sick of the "War on drugs" that the US is imposing on the rest.

    There are many other things, like no segregation of church and state (otherwise gay marriage would not be an issue) and the drinking age, but those first two should be a enough to get you started.

    Why just one aggregator? I would love to have several or even many. A bit like you used to have bookstores.

    You could have a Google one, a Yahoo one, One that is not neutral, like the publisher, one that is for kids books, one that has only SF. And even for those not just one, but several. Individuals could make ones as well with the books THEY have.

    Centralization is where the problem started, so THAT must be gone.

    They are not hackers, they are marketeers.
    Also people are confused if you send them messages in a form they are not used to. People tend to get the sms (as that is what it is) to be a line and need to open it. If you send it already open, then people tend to ignore it or are at least very confused.

    I tried it with software several years ago with my Nokia. Very easy to do, but when asked why they did not call me or send me a message back, the answer was that they thought something went wrong as the message did not arrive as intended, but directly on their screen.

    Als, going on about the war on terrorism, as it is so easy to do yourself, a terrorist could easily do the same to create a panic. Send as much messages to as many people in the area's for the Superbowl during the event telling there is a bomb and they must leave as soon as possible.

    See people kill each other by trampling. I am sure others can come up with other ideas.

    So download the software and start pranking your friends and see how they react.

    This is not about free speech. The companies MUST file a law suit, because otherwise they loose their trademark.

    This has nothing to do with satirical or political or whatever. If they don't sue or at least protest,they loose the trademark.

    I have less then 32MÂ (In real numbers). I have a bathtub, not a shower. I have a kitchen part, big desk with 3 24" screens and a queen sized bed.

    I have no need of moving walls around and I could do even with less space. Most important space to use is under the bed. LOTS of space there.

    Sure, I can't invite people over (well, not more then 1 at a time) but then there are plenty of places to go to.

    What they could do is place swap stations where tank stations are. First the cities. Then the places around the cities for commuters. Then further away.

    Not sure if this will give the car another 100+ years as gasoline is running out, or if we will be forced to look to travel less and be closer to where we work, without forgetting the ability to have free time.

    You can expect somebody who has done coding before besides what they needed to be done for their course.

    This means they will have done some coding for open source or made a website for something. Be it the church or their baund or their local pub or whatever.

    It will not only show that you are able to program. It also shows you are able to interact at least a little bit with other people.

    By saying this, you assume that they rely on evidence and thus that it is some sort of science. It isn't. They do not need to prove anything at all. They may believe anything they desire with all the freedom of religion.

    They must NOT confuse religion with science and that is what they are doing.

    Most likely they want to include science into everything and have no separation of religion and state or religion and anything. If you would have that, marriage between two men should not be an issue, as this would be done on state level. If you then want to merry on a religious level as well, go ahead and follow THEIR rules.

    It would should exclude 'In God we trust' on several public places.

    There are more people who have similar ideas. Some Muslims and some Jews think the same way that religion should be the only thing for us and it should be THEIR religion.

    Ask a women what she will be wearing and you will notice how silly the above is.

    Joking aside, why is it so bad to have differences. Not in the "Second class" kind of way, but different. This means different results for different groups of people. Not as easy, I agree, because there will be a lot of gray area and that is hard to explain (on TV). OR/OR is much easier to understand.

    For Google Images, I now need to scroll all the way down, select to switch to basic version to get a somewhat usable way of viewing images.

    And even though it would save time and bandwith on my side and about 5 minutes on their side to put it in a cookie, they decide that I must see it with a shitload of, well shit.

    So now I am using Yahoo and as a result I use it for 'normal' searches as well.

    Not a Mac issue, but a user issue. If I can convince people to do the following under Linux AND follow instructions, does that mean Linux is not safe?

    The reason this is not the case is because the current ITers are the past script kiddies who LOVED to help out the neighbor and reinstall stuff. So WE trained the people that this was normal.

    Ask a non-tech users and he will say it is normal that PCs get slower over time. "Normal" means here "To be expected".

    I doubt many people say "I work in IT and will charge your the official amount I charge others, grandma." I do so by saying they should ask for support with their supplier. I then explain I offered the installation of Linux and if they are willing to do that, I will be their supplier and they can come to me.
