I think the largest reason VMWare is doing this is because Intel and AMD are both developing technologies that allow multiple OSes per CPU; thus eliminating the need for VMWare altogether. Google for "AMD Pacifica" and "Intel VT" and you will see.
NewEgg was a spin off of ABS Computers; a system builder in California. NewEgg became such a hit primarily due to timing , but mainly due to their pricing. The Eggs were definitely incorporated to get people to THINK they had something to do with Egghead. NewEgg was able to secure such good pricing by using ABS as leverage when going to component manufacturers, thus cutting out the distributor.
This is actually just a phase out of older chips. A year ago Intel did the same with their "low end" 865 chipsets. At the time, 865 wasn't really low end.
I am a little surprised CNet spun a regularly scheduled product cycle into "Intel pulling out of the low end market". What about their 945P/G chipsets? Aren't they launching a low end 945GZ chipset in the next few months as well to replace 915P/G? Little details that don't make for very interesting headlines I suppose....
It's not called ghosting. It's called "motion blur". Scroll about halfway down and look at what some Anandtech writer just wrote about the whole subject:
I don't think anyone is arguing that Global Warming isn't occurring; the debate is to why it is occuring. The largest of these debates centers around whether or not Global Warming is manmade or not.
Quake had friggen Nine Inch Nails. Please tell me you go to the Symphony enough to actually care if the music is in your video game or not? Nine inch fucking nails! C'mon!
My guildies were having trouble getting past the first room in Blackwing's Lair last night, so my assumption is that Blizz has really come up with something special here.
Not entirely true. Not atll DVI is DVI-HDCP. For example; DVI on your LCD monitor is most likely not DVI-HDCP compatible, which is why you wouldn't be able to just hook up your new Tosh HDDVD player to your PC Monitor either.
No paper launch this time, you can buy the cards for $399 already:

- Open the word document, then tell Word to "Save as Filtered HTML".
- Close the docuemnt in Word, then open it up in Dreamweaver MX 2004.
- Tell DW to "Clean up Word HTML", then do "Clean up HTML" and under specific tag put "span".
Aside from some table issues, this cleans up about 99% of Word's garbage.HJ
The technology is a few years off, it's still there though. I am just saying VMWare is hedging their bets.

I think this case costs like a grand too or something. Didn't see it mentioned in the "review".

I seem to recall another article too because this thing is way old:

So shoot me... it should have read partially.

Yeah.. right right - sorry.
Is there any chance Slashdot can stop accepting submissions from the authors of the stories submitted?????
Tom's Hardware and Anandtech reviewed this stuff like 5 months ago; I think one of them even got slashdotted for it.

Problem Solved

Actually it isn't 375MB/s. AnandTech just had a few articles on this: http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=24 50
You loose 20% of the bandwidth for parity, so it ends up being 300MB/s.

In other news... No one cares? Was this just a post from the Inquirer to increase their page count today? At least it wasn't on the front page.

With regard to your sig:

Sure, either that or your guild just sucks?

You deserve a mod up. Unfortunately, I have no points :(
