    Sorry, Linux isn't a GUI. Which GUI do you dislike specifically?

    Not sure how you say Linux is a clone of Windows when it is pretty well documented it is a clone of BSD, which Mac OS X is also a clone of.

    My Sony Z2 checks the GPS every now and then and doesn't even bother trying to use Wifi if I'm not actually physically near any of my known wifi points.
    Stuff like that is quite sensible and practical. I equally get ridiculous battery life.

    Isn't double buffering supposed to make it run at 60hz with a single frame doubled?
    Yep single buffering would cause a progressive tear moving down the screen constantly.

    Magnetic stripe + Signature = insecure.
    Chip + Pin = A teensy little bit less insecure.

    Over here in Australia, just a few months ago they removed signature as an option.
    Every single credit card transaction must be PayWave or Chip + Pin.

    So...instead of pumping gas in, you just put it near the inlet vent and it sucks it in for you?

    Even gives it a good mix with air for a better detonation.

    Most Android 4.x phones I'd expect to have more than 512mb RAM.
    Mine runs 4.3 for example and it only has a paltry 3gigs of RAM.

    Where do you think the smart phone sensor tech starts from?

    Doing neat new stuff in the big sensors is easier than trying to do it from scratch in tiny sensors.
    This applies to everything. Car companies do all their R&D on massive sports cars which don't make a profit. A few years later the regular cars get some of the benefits.

    The GPS module is (usually) just sending NMEA serial data. Splice the line and you don't need a faraday cage and complicated spoofer.

    Australian drivers licences are done on a state level. That is pretty normal.

    The history there is fairly irrelevant. Right now, the US has more or less what Australia has (just as an example) with minor differences in implementation.
    Country, State, County/Local Council.
